“Why wouldn’t I be able to make more? It’s an easy potion.”
Rykah and Will(because I can't think of a better title)
Rykah sighed curling into Will again, not sure what to think.
“I’ll make it as long as you need it.”
“Then I’ll make it for the rest of our lives.” Will said, not even thinking about it for a second.
Rykah closed his eyes, trying to think of how he could ever repay Will, and how he was gonna explain this to his mom.
“You want to try and go upstairs, so I can work on a longer lasting potion?”
"Sure…" said Rykah, tensing a little, his ears drooping as he carefully sat up, and tried to stand.
Will put an arm around him, letting Rykah put his weight in him.
Rykah looked at him gratefully, as they carefully made their way upstairs.
Will opened his door and carefully set Rykah down on his bed, before getting the ingredients he needed out.
Rykah watched him, massaging his leg carefully, noting that it was still numb.
Will set up his area, getting focused in on what he was doing.
Rykah watched him, he was curious, but his interest was also dulled by confusion.
“Any side-effects of the potion that I need to work on?”
"i don't think so…" said Rykah, looking up from the massage he was trying to give his leg.
Will nodded, beginning to throw ingredients together and writing
Things down in a journal.
Rykah continued to massage his leg, eventually sighing as he came to a particularly tough spot. Pulling up his pant leg a little you could see the blackened skin, mottled as if it had melted and solidified.
Will turned around, rolling his shirt sleeves up to his elbows, before his eyes widened. “Rykah?!”
Rykah looked up, confusion in his eyes, "What's wrong?" he asked softly.
“Your leg….”
Rykah looked down at it for a second, realization dawning. "That's the wound I told you about earlier…" he said, "Normally it doesn't hurt… but…" he shrugged.
Will finally looked away, realizing it was rude to stare. He turned back to his potion, saying, “I’m sorry.”
"It's ok…" said Rykah, "You know… you're the first one to see it and not freak out….."
“I’m mostly immune to stuff like that freaking me out. Or at least have the freak out be apparent on the outside.”
"The last person who saw it thought I was a demon….." said Rykah quietly, starting to work the kinks out of the muscle.
“That person should eat dog crap.” Will said without hesitation.
Rykah couldn't help laughing. A smile spreading over his face.
Will smiled when he heard Rykah laugh, but continued to work on the potion.
(Oh, I like the way you think)
Will jumped when there was a knock on the door, and Jack opened it before Will could say anything.
“Time for- What the heck is that?!” Jack cut himself off, looking at Rykah’s leg.
“Jack, shut up.” Will said, his voice low.
Jack winced at his brothers tone, but said, “Sorry.”
