The Dark King Uktakt of the Nine Tortures is lonely. He decides to create two children to raise as his own, but quickly learns that the Palace of the Underworld isn't a suitable place to raise the twins. So he goes to the Overworld, in search of greener pastures and brighter suns to raise the two. But it has been centuries since he has seen the Overworld and so much has changed, he can barely keep up. So he does what any reasonable Dark King would do, and conscripts a human to help him navigate this new world and maybe also help him raise his wayward children. Someone help this man he has no idea what he's doing-

10 years old, kind of an asshole most of the time. He loves to argue anything and everything, and he always seems to be annoyed about something. He refuses to let anyone cut his hair so they have to do it in his sleep. Family calls him 'Pitchy' to piss him off since his voice hasn't changed (which he's annoyed about even though he's only ten)
He has bad astraphobia (fear of storms) but hasn't told anyone and probably won't want to let anyone help him
He wants to keep up his cool angry attitude so he's not allowed to be scared of things, obviously
He's a big fan of candy so he can be bribed with it sometimes
Rarely listens to orders

Uktakt is probably the most depressing person you'll meet. He's just so tired, and honestly he's kind of done with life as a whole. He's friendly, though, and generally merciful to those he's allowed to be merciful to, as well as very intelligent, but not particularly wise. He's working on that, though. Honestly he deserves so much better but due to Fate Reasons he's stuck where he is, in a complete mess.
He's the third brother of six, with three brothers taking care of the Spirit World, two the Overworld, and himself the Underworld. He basically got the short end of the stick in the equation, but he can't do anything to change that. His worshippers worship him out of fear, everyone else hates him and blames him for their misfortunes. It isn't the greatest job in the world.
Uktakt is afraid of horses, it's a whole thing in his mythos.
I could think of other stuff to add and I'll probably edit this later but this is all I've got for now.

He can have as many arms as he wants, but often only has six out at a time as that is what is generally most useful.
He is very pansexual, and has had many partners of all genders through his mythology, all of whom have died horrible deaths. Is it too soon to call a Bury Your Gays on this man or??? most people think he's A Very Straight Man though.

Personality: Sophie is a genuinely very kind, caring person. She especially cares about children despite not having any of her own. She worries about what other people think of her and though she doesn't want to come across as "clingy" or "needy", she very much enjoys physical contact with other people. Sophie tends to over-apologize and get flustered easily.
Backstory: Sophie has wanted to be a writer since she was a little girl and constantly jots ideas down, but has never had the confidence to put anything that she's made out there. She did, however, realize that she wanted to be a teacher when her aunts adopted while she was in high school. She went to college for it–with couple of courses for writing on the side–and went into teaching shortly afterward. She's been working her current job, a fifth-grade teacher at a private school, for seven years.
Other: Sophie has a massive sweet tooth and bakes in her spare time. She's especially partial to vanilla or caramel flavored sweets. Sophie dyes her hair because the kids she teaches like it. She likes to stargaze and also likes things with star/constellation/moon motifs.
