It’s fine. I’m just going to start in the morning, when they wake up.

Amara slowly opened her eyes. She hated mornings. More than anything. But she dragged herself out of bed, groaning as she did so. She opened her closet door and slowly began getting ready.

Yale rolled over, as his alarm rung loudly in his ear. He was more of a night owl, not an early bird. He had stayed up till 2 am listening to music, bad idea.

Amara quickly lost the anger she felt towards mornings, and, once she was dressed, bounded down the stairs. She busied herself making toast. She hummed a song to herself, although she wasn’t sure where she had heard it. Sometime last night.

Yale stood up and stretched, he quickly put clothes on and headed to the bathroom to apply his daily black eyeshadow. He then slowly walked down the stairs.

Amara looked up from her plate to see her brother walking down the stairs. Because she couldn’t talk with a mouthful of toast, she pointed to a plate across from her, meaning that she had made some for him too.

Yale gave a small wave to Amara and grabbed the piece of toast and took a small bite from it and sat down. He then pulled out his phone and got on tumblr.

Amara rolled her eyes. “Really? Immediately on your phone?”

Yale gave Amara a tired glare, "Yeah, do you have a problem?" His voice was icy

Yale scoffed and threw the unfinished piece of toast away. He then checked that he'd done his homework and put his things in his bag, he didn't bother packing a lunch since he never ate lunch at school anyways.

“Yale, we have to go. Bus is here.”

"Okay." Yale mumbled, he got onto the bus and went to the back and plugged in his headphones so he could listen to music
