"Now I see why your neighbors are nosy," Eric said as he drove up to the Skating rink. He looks over to see what Amelia was doing and smiled, "How adorable."
Amelia blushed and and looked at the Skating rink. There was nobody there except the person handing out skates. She hurried out of the car, "Let's go!"
Eric got out of the car and followed Amelia into the Skating rink. The employee saw Amelia and Eric walk in and got himself ready to talk, "Hello and welcome to the rink. If you want to skate you have to pay $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Your total would be $15." Eric was confused for a moment but he realized the employee thought Amelia was a kid because she was short and looked young. "Umm… she isn't a kid…" Eric clarified
Amelia couldn't help but blush, "If you need my drivers license…"
"Let me see your license ma'am," the employee said sticking out his hand
Amelia dug through her purse and then handed it to him, "There you go."
The employee inspected her driver's license and handed it back to her, "I guess you are an adult. Now your new total is $20." Eric paid the employee and got roller blades for Amelia and himself, "ready st skate?"
Amelia put the skates on, "Yup!"
Eric put on the skates and once he stepped on the rink he fell to the ground, "sone of a-… this is harder than they make it seem."
Amelia went to help him but ended up landing on top of him, her face inches away from his. She blushed, "S-Sorry."
"I-It's alright," Eric said as he tries to slowly move Amelia off of him, "why d-don't we try to get back up and skate together."
Amelia slowly nodded and stood up, "Y-Yeah…." She got up and started shakily skating around. Since she was small and had been a dancer she was able to figure it out quickly, "Hey! This is actually pretty fun!"
Eric always practiced keeping his balance but had a hard time trying to skate. He fell at least 10 times within the first few minutes. He always got back up even if the employee was making fun of him. Eric started to skate properly and tried to find Amelia so she can look over but crashed into her.
Amelia fell to the ground but didn't mind it. She looked back up at Eric, her eyes sparkling and a soft smile, "You are not a quitter……" Amelia made no attempt to get him of her.
"W-Why should I be a qu-quitter?" Eric started to get nervous, "why don't we get back up b-before anyone else sees us." He gets back up and helps Amelia back up, "why don't we head back home and I'll give you your surprise early."
Amelia smiled sweetly, "Sure!" She returned the skates and got back into the car.
Eric returned the skates and entered the driver's seat. He returned to Amelia's house and opened the front door for her, "why don't you take a shower or something while I get everything ready out here"
Amelia smiled and nodded, "I could use a hot shower to warm me up. Just call me when you need me." So she went and got into the shower.
Eric moved everything in the living room to the wall. He got out his phone and tried to find a song that he and Amelia can dance to. He didn't have a tux so he just put on a bowtie. "I hate ties and bowties," he said to himself, "but it's only for a short while."
Amelia finished in the shower. She put on a black crop top hoodie, green camo pants, and put her hair in a messy bun.
Eric looks around to see if he was missing anything for Amelia's surprise. He waits patiently for Amelia to come out of the bathroom.
Amelia got out of the bathroom and gasped, "Eric!"
Eric smiled nervously and asked, "w-would you like to dance with me?"
Amelia smiled, "Of course I would! And thank you for all of this. I love it so much."
"T-Thanks. I sometimes get special occasions made at the last minute," Eric said jokingly as he plays 'Tale as Old as Time,' "This seems like a fitting song…"
Amelia nodded, "I love this song. Come on lets dance." She started dancing with Eric.
Eric didn't know how to dance like Amelia so he just followed her lead, "I know I'm supposed to lead but I don't know how to dance…"
Amelia took the lead and put her head against his chest, "It's fine. I just love spending time with you."
Eric smiles and leans forward to kiss Amelia on the cheek, "I love spending time with you too."
"You know….we don't have to dance. We could do something else. I know you dont really dance."
