She started to nuzzle against him when she frowned slightly, placing a hand to her forehead.

She turned her head to bury against his chest, trying to match his breathing despite her’s being a bit faster.
He held her gently, rubbing her back.
She moaned softly at the touch, grateful for the distraction as she now focused on the gentle motions.

She stayed like that for a few minutes before she was able to relax again. Her breathing had calmed down but still sounded heavy as if she had just finished a run.
He kissed the top of her head.
She sighed a little and looked back up at him. ”Sorry.” she murmured softly.
"It's fine." He replied with a faint smile.
She smiled a little weakly back. ”Thank you.”
He nodded. "Of course."
”Stupid super-powered brain.” she muttered.
He chuckled. "Hmm."
”Shut up.” she chuckled softly. ”At least when your power goes a little crazy, it doesn't hurt you.”
He snickered. "Actually…it can. But." He shrugged.
She looked at him. ”It can? How?” she asked.
He sighed. "Eh…burnout, and if I use it for too long I start coughing up blood." He replied in matter-of-fact tone.
”Oh.” she nodded in understanding. ”Sometimes I can get nosebleeds from the more intense attacks.”
He nodded a little bit. "Yeah."
She sighed and curled against him. ”Yeah.”
He held her close.
She chuckled dryly. ”I seem to have a bad habit of nearly ruining the moment, don't I?”
He chuckled as well. "Mm. Yes, but I won't hold that against you."
She sighed and let her eyes close. ”Thank you, darling.” she smiled, the nickname just slipping out.
He blinked at the nickname, then smiled a little. "You're welcome."
She blushed when she realized what she said but, at his response, she didn't apologize. Instead she nuzzled closer with a small smile.
He kissed her cheek softly.
She opened her eyes as he kissed her and looked up at him.
