He took a deep breath, smiling faintly.

She held him closer, trying not to let those three words slip out. She couldn't say it in English, or any language he could understand… He wasn't ready for that.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He kissed her forehead gently.

She looked up at him with a soft smile.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He smiled back at her lightly, brushing some of her hair back from her forehead.

She blushed softly at the gesture with a light giggle. “Thank you.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He smiled at her. "Mm, of course, love."

Her eyes widened and her blush darkened at the epithet. She didn't mind it really, it was just a surprise. But a very pleasant surprise.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He laughed a little at her blush, kissing her cheek.

She ducked her bright red face against his chest and took a calming breath. “How do you mean that?” she mumbled.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"What do you mean?"

“You’re a hard man to read, Killian.” she sighed a little and looked shyly up at him. “Are you just saying that to tease me or do you really mean it?”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He blinked. "Oh. I…"

She nodded a little and rested her head against his shoulder.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He didn't know how to respond, didn't know what to say.

“I’m sorry.” she sighed. She didn't mean to put him on the spot like that. She mostly just wanted to make sure that he wasn't making fun of her.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"It's, ah, alright."

She sighed again and nodded. She was fairly sure he knew how she felt about him. She told him once in English and several other times in unique ways. Plus, she had a terrible poker face which is why she wore the full helmet. Her emotions always seemed to be obviously displayed on her face.

He kissed her forehead softly, frowning a little in thought.

She really hoped that she hadn't read too much into their situation. She’d been using the expression “actions speak louder than words” and her understanding of the different types of “love languages” to try to rationalize their behaviors…

He looked around the arcade quietly.

She closed her eyes and slowly pulled away.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He looked down at her.

“Can you…” she sighed and shook her head. “Just tell me if you were making fun of me.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I wasn't." He replied.

She let out a small breath of relief and smiled softly, looking up at him. “Thank you.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded a little, smiling faintly.

“I… I’m sorry.” she said softly. “For making you uncomfortable. I just didn't expect you to… call me that.” she trailed off, blushing.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah. I…didn't mean to." He laughed faintly.

“It… uh, just slipped out, right?” she asked with a weak awkward chuckle.
