The League (small-ish group) (open, no need for a writing sample)

What happens when a few classic heroes meet each other in an attempt to save the world from global war? Well, that’s when LXG, or The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Movie happens. But what happens when our team is made of… well, a few more people than expected? I’m exploring that today, by adding three more roles. Just to chaosify this a little bit.

Plot is as follows: The crew are recruited by a mysterious M, to stop the villain Phantom from creating a superweapon that could destroy the Modern Victorian world. Yep, that’s about it. More to come later.

I have not read the original comics. Don’t try and make me.

I’ll explain the backstories of your characters as well as the characters I have if you don’t know anything about this story but still want to join. For Sawyer, it's the basic LXG story. He joined an early version of the American FBI after his adventures as a child, being the great marksman he was, and sailed on over to Europe when he heard that international collapse was abound. Not too hard to follow of a story, and offers a lot of wiggle room for other plot ideas.

Sherlock is more complicated. After his friends and partners in crime solving and in secret marriage, John and Mary Watson, are killed in a mysterious fire, Sherlock decides to become hell bent on revenge. He is not aware of Moriarty and has not met the man at this point. However, he discovers a criminal underworld run by a J.M., so when a mysterious figure calling himself M. offering answers about this J.M. in exchange for help in his saving the world, Sherlock reluctantly agrees if only to get his information and leave afterwards. A bit more complicated, but I'm leaving a bit of room for character customization. The fire happened about a month before meeting M., and the meeting of the League is a month after the invitation. I'd also thought Sherlock could be trans in this version and be carrying John's unborn child but I decided that I'd leave that up to you to decide on if you wanted more or less drama included.

As for TIM and Mina, their stories differ a bit.

The Invisible Man, or TIM for short, is actually a thief who discovered the original formula for the Invisibility serum. He drank it, and suddenly-invisible! Great for stealing. But at a price. He couldn't turn back after long term use of the serum, but a mysterious M. offered him a cure if he helped with the mission. Also, the Invisible Man doesn't have to be a man per se, that's just what he was in the original.

Mina's story follows the events of Dracula. However, before she can become Mina Harker, Jonathan Harker is brutally murdered by Dracula, and his heart is eaten. In revenge, Mina kills Dracula and drinks his blood, giving her Jonathan's soul back and sending it on to the afterlife instead of eternal torment as well as the souls of all of Dracula's other victims, but for a price. She herself becomes a vampire, the one thing she hates most in the world. She and Van Helsing search for a cure, but come up with nothing. After Van Helsing tries to kill her, she flees, and hides out in Dracula's old castle, only going out to feed on humans. Eventually she gets bored, and meets Dorian Gray, another immortal, and they swap immortality secrets, kill people together, all that great immortal gal pals stuff. Eventually Mina realizes she's become the monster she always hated, and leaves Dorian. But eventually, she and he meet again when M. calls them both to help save the world.
