Another day in the life of a sick man. Embry repeated this to himself every morning. When he woke up, and when he headed to the program that he'd been told to go to everyday. He hated this program, because it was reteaching the stuff he'd learned in God's Own, but even so, he had to go. There was no choice. His illness, the one on the inside, was going to get worse if he didn't go. And that fact upset him. He wasn't ready to die.

Embry finally got to the conference room, his entrance not told by a greeting but instead by a brutal cough that drew blood from his throat. As the blood rolled down his chin, he looked towards the other person in the room. "Uh- Hey. You the one workin' here? Or are you here for the meeting, as a participant?" he asked, not knowing this person, given that they were new. He wiped the blood from his mouth and chin then licked it off his hand.

Embry's eyes narrowed towards Azami as he gave an affirmative nod. He then sat down in a chair across from her. He swiped away some of his bright red hair, that which fell over onto his face when his head jerked due to the previous cough and then crossed one of his legs over the other. He then checked his watch. "Everyone else should be coming soon. I keep an eye on the time that people get here and now is around that time," he spoke up again after s brief moment of pure silence. It felt weird just saying that straight up, with no context or anything whatsoever. Even so, he couldn't deny that he did exactly as he said. Doing so would mean he would practically be lying to himself, and that was a thing he just could not allow himself to do. Unbeknownst to him, this was an ideology stemmed from another practice b]taught by God's Own, his previous cult. This was one of the very few practices that he'd repressed the memory of learning, even though he was undoubtedly devoted to the cult itself. Hell, he couldn't even consider it a cult. He thought it was doing more good than harm, although that's clearly not the case, seeing as his mental state had taken a toll after his time there.

"I know a lot of people who do that, myself included," Embry continued on, paying no regard to Azami's having responded to his statement. Suddenly, he let out another cough, causing a light mist of blood to spray onto the table. Surprisingly, his blood wasn't a normal red color. Rather… It was pink. A bright, almost eerie shade of pink. He looked at his hand, the hand itself having grown shaky due to the constant lack of blood circulating to it. He wiped his mouth again, lapping up the blood of his hands and pulling out a tissue, wiping away the blood on the table.

Embry breathed heavily, then once he caught his breath, he checked his watch again. "Weird, they should all be here. It's well past the time they're supposed to come." Embry tapped his slightly bloodied fingers against the desk, keeping his eyes fixed onto the watch.

Embry continued frantically tapping his fingers against the table until he gave up and full-on slammed his hand against it. It was clear he was shaken up by the others not following the routine that had been set for them. "They've rebelled! Goddammit, they've rebelled!" he exclaimed as he pushed his chair back, standing up, keeping his hands pressed against the table. 'it's just like in God's Own! They've rebelled against the system! We're supposed to come here every single day, and at the same time each, or hell, even come early, but late?!" He slammed his fist down again. Now it was clear why he was here seeking treatment. Breakdowns like this are only half of what Embry had to face ever since God's Own was shut down by the police. "That just can't be!"

Embry began shaking violently up until Azami told him to calm down. Just then, he nodded and began taking deep breaths, his mood beginning to settle. "Sorry about that outburst, I- That's been happening a lot lately. I'm just used to following any sort of routine- seeing people choose not to follow it just… pisses me off," he said, snarling low at the end. "My old, er… religious group was founded on using routine to better one's self, so that mindset has stuck with me."

Embry looked down at the ground, ashamed he even had that outburst in the first place. Despite it being uncontrollable, and even happening against his own will, he still managed to feel bad about the whole thing entirely. He then put his hand over his mouth, feeling another cluster of blood moving up his throat. Once it finally came out, he spit it all up in his hand then returned it back into his body by pouring it back down into where it came from.

Embry stayed standing for a while until he eventually wobbled to the point where he fell back into the seat he'd sat in earlier. He didn't know what else to say in terms of making small talk, and it's not like he really did talk much otherwise. He was known in this place for being that silent dude who occasionally coughed up blood. He didn't like being the one to hone that title, but it wasn't like there was anyone else who could fit that moniker.

Embry was just about to cough again before he heard the sound of the conference room's door opening, or at least thought he did. It turned out to be a door right across from the conference room, rather than the actual conference room door. "Seems like nobody else is coming. That's odd. I mean… I know a few of them were discharged but holy shit, there's literally nobody in this room but us."
