"You got hurt. They'd be horrible to kick you out," Pollux muttered, "What do you do, anyway, that you have hours like those?"
He shifted a bit.

"Janitorial service for big office buildings, then I go to the local college for the same thing." Said Rykah. "And I got shit hours cause it's all they'll give me, and I don't have any other options."

"If… that's the kind of work you're used to, we always benefit from that kind of work at the hospital. And they pay better than schools and whatnot. At least I think. If that's something you'd be interested in. I think they'd at least give benefits for full time work, and they're much more lenient about medical leave and all that," Pollux explained, "So, that's on the table, if you ever want to apply there."

"Why would a hospital take on some homeless weirdo? I've got no references, or qualifications to work in a place like that."

"As a janitor? They're happy to hire anyone who gets the job done for that kind of position, as long as they pass basic criminal background checks," Pollux said, "It might be worth looking into. I dunno, man. I'm trying to help. You don't deserve to just live like this and just kind of die one day because something bad but preventable happens. If you want to look into it, I'll vouch for you."

Rykah frowned a little bit in thought at this, actually considering going along with it. "Seeing as I probably got fired earlier this morning, I think Ill take you up on that." He said slowly, not wanting to agree to anything more just yet.

"Okay, well, let me know what I can do for you regarding the job," Pollux said, "Like I said, I'll definitely vouch for you."
He smiled a bit, pulling his hood back over his head.
"And outside of that, if there's anything I can offer, I'm here as well."
He shifted and sighed to himself.
"You don't seem to care all that much that I'm a vampire, and I appreciate that."

Rykah rolled his eyes, "my father from what little I know was supposedly the equivalent of a werewolf, a vampire for a doctor is nothing."

"I guess so. Most people's first impression is that I'm a doctor so I can find victims, or something at least as equally as disgusting. But I guess you didn't realize I was a vampire until after you saw my intentions," Pollux replied.
He paused for a second. "Wait, so what are you, exactly? Not trying to pry. I'm just very curious, since you brought up your father, and well… since you've got those wings."

"My dad was half wolf from what I know, apparently his wolf side came from some sort of sentient elemental breed of wolf. I inherited the wing, ears and tail from him, don't ask me why he had wings cause I have no trucking clue." Explained Rykah.

Pollux shrugged.
"Fascinating. I can't say I'm the most familiar with nonhuman races and species, just because I haven't been around that long," he admitted.

Rykah shrugged, "Honestly I couldn't care less about any of them at this point so long as they don't hurt me, or in the case of vampires, drain me dry."

"Fair enough… I do like to know a bit about who I might have to treat, but that's really the extent of my interest, " Pollux replied, "Although like I said, I haven't been here long. I got turned only two years ago. I think…"

Rykah shrugged, "So you know what being normal is then, lucky you." Said Rykah sarcastically, kicking the tarps in frustration when he was met with the blatant reality that his shelter was no longer a shelter for the time being.

He was about to protest, as his 'normal' life had also been not-so-great, and filled with suffering. Yet he let it go.
"Rykah, you can crash at my place. I don't sleep. You can use my bed. At least until you can figure something out with this. Leaving you out in the elements would be cruel. Especially with your injuries."

Rykah frowned a bit, tempted to shove off the offer by pointing out that there was the relative cover of the overpass bridge further into the woods. But then.. an offer like that. He let out a long sigh, his self pride deflating a bit. "Thank you." He said softly, "If you don't mind, I'd really appreciate it." His ears were pinned back as he said it, and he didn't look him in the eyes. But he did say it.

"I don't mind at all," Pollux confirmed, "I've easily got the means to help you out. There's no reason for me not to."
He let out a sigh of relief.
"I can help you gather up some of your things, but I think I need to go on a quick hunt first. I'm still feeling really weak, if I'm being honest, and I don't want to lose myself and try to hurt you again."

Rykah nodded silently, still internally dealing with the blow to his pride giving a soft nod of acknowledgement. Slowly he headed over to the one intact box, intent on making sure everything was there.

While Rykah checked on his things, Pollux went into the trees, creeping around. He kept alert for any movement.
His hunt was pretty successful; he saw a deer in the distance and chased it down. Once he caught it, he hungrily bit down into its neck and drained it dry.

Rykah flinched checking the box,then added a few more things in a stack on top of it, then let out another soft sigh as he surveyed the rest of the wreckage of his shelter.

When Pollux was done, he made sure to clean off traces of blood the best he could before returning to Rykah.
"Can I get anything for you?" he offered, "I can lift quite a lot, so it's no big deal."

flash_on
@StarryWolfy flash_on

"No, I don't have all that much that's important." He said softly, picking up the box, with the few wet clothing items on top of it. The rest of his stuff was sheltered underneath the collection of tarps with rocks weighting it down.

@Becfromthedead group

"Okay, if you're sure," Pollux replied, "I don't mind at all. And if we need to grab anything else later, that's fine too. You got all that?"
He shifted his weight a bit.

Rykah just nodded quietly, not really up to words at the moment as he tried to reconcile Pollux's niceness with what the rest of the world had done.

"Okay, well… Let's get back to my bike. I'll take you back home," Pollux said with a shrug.
He hadn't really smiled at all, but didn't seem unhappy about all this by any means. What he did seemed almost automatic. Correct. He didn't do things like this to feel good about himself, after all.

@StarryWolfy flash_on

Rykah nodded, slowly tearing his gaze away from the wreckage and heading towards the main trail through the trees, balancing the box and the wet clothing on top using his good wing to shield his face as he pushed through the trees.

Pollux picked his helmet up from the picnic table and put it over his head once they got back to the pavillion area.
He eyed Rykah's things, and his bike, trying to best figure out how to transport them all.
"I've got some cord here, if you want to tie that box down to my bike. Then you could hold the clothes. Unless you've got a different suggestion."

flash_on
@StarryWolfy flash_on

"That's probably best…" said Rykah, agreeing with Pollux's plan. Luckily his box wasn't very big, so it wouldn't take much to hold it down. And his clothes were already bundled in themselves, so it would be simple to fasten it all down.

@Becfromthedead group

Pollux grabbed some cord from his bag and took the box from Rykah, working 4o fasten it down.
When he was done, he got on and started up the engine again.

Rykah watched him carefully as the other fastened the box down with the cord. Letting out a soft sigh, he settled himself back on the bike behind Pollux.
