Purple Lantern Penitentiary. The high profile government project that houses high-powered individuals. Hidden below Purple Lantern Cafe is one hundred dangerous people.
You're a high-powered individual with a criminal past? Purple Lantern Penitentiary. High-powered individual whose only crime is having powers? Purple Lantern Penitentiary. High-powered individual with an intense criminal past? Purple Lantern Penitentiary with your own cell.
Laura Davies and Nat Kingsley are the most powerful people in the penitentiary. They have armed guards near them whenever they're around people, and power-restricting shackles around their necks.
Two new people are coming into the penitentiary in the forms of Erica Michaels and Danielle Richard. Rumour has it that they're more powerful than Laura and Nat.
There's only two things that can happen: a fight for power or a team-up and escape from the penitentiary.

They're all placeholder names. I will change the names when I see everyone's characters.

Name: Laura Davies

Appearance: Laura has pale skin with equally pale lips. Her eyes are a cold blue and stare right into your soul. Her hair is pure white, straight and mid-back length.

Background: Laura hated her family from a young age. She had powers, but they were weak. Her skin was a normal colour, her hair was a light brown and her eyes were dull brown. Her father was abusive, but he never struck her or her two brothers. Her brothers both took after her father, and they beat on their mother but never their sister.
When Laura was 16, she came home from school to find her mother dead on the floor. She knew it was her father and brothers: their engraved knives were still in her torso and heart. She walked outside, finding them laying around drinking beer. She screamed, ice shooting from her body. It engulfed them and they fell, smashing. As her powers awakened, her hair turned white, her eyes became blue and her skin pale. She ran, knowing people would come after her.
While on the run, she met Marcos, who quickly became her fiancé. They had a daughter named Freya. One night, police stormed their apartment. They put a power-restrictor around her neck and started to drag her away. When Marcos tried to stop them, her was shot and killed.
Laura later found out that Freya had been adopted by the overseer of the penitentiary, and she despises him when he comes to talk to her.
She holds her engagement ring on a chain around her neck. She hopes that she’ll be able to see Freya when she gets older. If not, she wants to tear the overseer limb from limb and steal her away.
She knows that Freya will look like her. She already knows that Freya has crykinesis. It’s only a matter of time.
Crime: Killed her family when she was 16. Went on the run, killed a couple more people. Was caught at age 20.
Power/s: Extremely powerful cryokinesis. She can freeze your blood or lower your body temperature in .5 seconds flat.

Appearance: Evera is fairly tall, around 5'8, and weighs around 179lbs. She is a bit overweight, and wears her extra weight mostly in her stomach, chest, and thighs. She is proportional and of average build; however, she does have fairly wide shoulders. Her face is round, but she has a distinct cleft on her chin. Her skin is fair, unmarred by freckles or any other marks, her eyes are dark brown and oval shaped. She has raven black hair cut into a professional bob. She is Korean.
Style: She wears mostly blazers or nice blouses and slacks. Always dressed professionally.
Personality: ESTJ-T: The Executive. Evera is a leader and she has amazing people skills. She is comfortable around large groups, at ease when addressing a crowd, and skilled at making people feel important. She inspires people while keeping their hopes manageable. When she is overly stressed or bombarded with questions even she can't invent an answer for, she'll shut the conversation down in any way she can. She is likable, with a good sense of humor, warm, amicable, and at times motherly. However, she can be quite domineering and condescending.
Likes: Spending time with her family, attending meetings, and organizing things. She's also an avid reader and loves long walks.
Dislikes: Feeling as though she has no control, the people who killed her wife, criminals who kill needlessly, people without any sort of moral code, people too different than her, difficult people
Background: As a child, Evera was taught to keep her abilities a secret. Evera became a successful business woman on the rise when she decided to run for a political position. However, she stumbled upon the mistreatment of powered individuals and was then targeted by some higher ups for her outspoken disagreement of aforementioned treatment. Her wife was targeted and killed in a shoot out. She tried to retaliate, but she was sent to the penitentiary instead.
Crime: Speaking out against the treatment of powered individuals.
Power/s: Energy/Impact/Damage Absorption and Manipulation. She can absorb energy in any form, but she must redistribute it or else it can harm her. For example, if someone shoots her, she can absorb that energy from the bullet and turn it into any form of energy, but if she doesn't redistribute it by destroying something, it will harm her. She can use this ability to heal, as well.

Appearance: Curly raven black hair cut to just below her shoulders. Her eyes are a warm brown, with red surrounding the pupil, sort of 'bleeding' into the brown. Skin is olive toned. Trailing along her left arm, rib cage, and shoulder blade, are strange markings and swirling designs in an inky black and deep red. Has a scar just under her right eye, very obviously from a blade, and various scars along her body, most commonly on her palms and arms. 5’8 and a mix between curvy and muscular, the curves being the natural way her body seems to prefer, and the muscle a specific choice.
Style: A red trench coat is her signature clothing article. Black heeled ankle boots and black skinny jeans, with a black tank top, makes up her usual outfit. Sometimes goes for combat boots instead. Will also occasionally swap the tank for a cropped long sleeved shirt. Refuses to wear the uniform the way she’s supposed to, whether it be altering or just rolling things up in an asymmetrical way.
Personality: She’s fairly quiet most of the time, always observing those around her. Knows more about you than you do, and is always up-to-date on the latest gossip. Scarily intelligent, and not afraid to just…not do what someone says, despite her background in the military. If you need something knife-like, this is your gal. Nobody’s sure how exactly she gets the shit for making shivs and what not, but she does. Thanks to her being deaf in one ear and HoH in the other, she’s really good at lip reading, though it often seems like she’s ignoring somebody just because she can’t hear them.
Likes: Cooking, roasted vegetables, the color red, using her power to heal, though she doesn’t any more for obvious reasons. The stars, music.
Dislikes: Not too big a fan of small spaces, but she deals. Showing fear, meat, cops, being reminded of her time in the military.
Background: As soon as she was able to, she joined the military, wanting to become something her family would be proud of. While serving, she went through a lot of shit, including being blackmailed into using her abilities against the enemy, with the threat of being outed a motivator to keep doing it. Eventually, she was honorably discharged, after being caught in an explosion that resulted in the loss of hearing in one ear, though almost nobody knows. She was caught and locked up after being cornered in an alley by a group of men, and using her power to manipulate one of them into aiding her, and then killing him. She quickly switched up her personality enough to gain respect in the prison, knowing it would be the best for her in the long run.
Crime: Beyond just having powers, she was arrested for using her abilities to make a man kill his cohorts. What the police refused to believe is that she was defending herself.
Power/s: Her magic, known as Bloodbending, allows her to control the body on a biological level. She can use her blood to heal injuries, and even sickness. If she gets a hold of someone's blood, she can control them both physically and mentally. Her power is limited to one person at a time without an enhancer, and too much use has negative side-effects. If she has an enhancer, depending on how much she's taken she could very likely be able to control corpses.

Appearance: Danielle is pretty without knowing it. She has shoulder length brown hair that’s very wavy, and her eyes are a bright, startling shade of icy blue. She had pale skin, but is now very tanned because of countless hours in the sun. She’s about 5’6” and slender, and slightly curvy, though she likes to wear baggy clothes to disguise the fact. She has a tattoo of thorns winding up her wrist, and wears a simple silver anklet. Her arms are faintly muscled, and she’s in better shape than almost everyone.
Style: Anything comfortable and baggy, and easy to move in.
Personality: Danielle is kind of unpredictable. She can be sarcastic, rude and manipulative one moment, and funny and caring the next. It all depends on how much sleep she gets, and how much she likes the person. She has an uncanny talent for knowing who to trust and who not to, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, which has often gotten her into trouble. She’s very loyal, and will rip the limbs off of anyone who hurts someone she loves. She has slight anger issues, and is competitive, which is a problem.

Background: Danielle loved Fire, even before she discovered her abilities. Her mom died giving birth to her, and sh le lived with her negligent father until he commuted suicide when she was 15. She ran away from multiple foster homes, eventually ending up with a group of killers that called themselves the Titans. She rose int hier ranks, and soon became the feared Fire Witch. She was only caught, though, when her partner betrayed her for money.
Crime: Multiple murders over the course of five years
Power/s: Very powerful pyrokinesis. She can evaporate blood, sick heat drom your body and absorb heat into her. There is also fire manipulation and creation, though there needs to be heat in the air for her to be able to create it.

Atop a busy city street sits a busy Purple Lantern Cafe. Nestled in front of an empty warehouse, the cafe provided perfect cover for the Purple Lantern Penitentiary. If only the members of the city knew that the most powerful and dangerous high-powered individuals layed calmly beneath their feet.

Deep in the confinements of penitentiary, a cell held the murderer known to the public only as Winter Equinox. She stood in the centre of the glass cell, eyes closed, head tilted down. The power restricter around her neck was barely visible due to her white hair covering it. The metal shackles that encased her hands had patches of frost on them, as did the chains connecting them to the floor and the glass that contained her.
Winter Equinox's head shot up as she heard the door containing the glass cell opening, her eyes ice blue. She made no noise as the head of the penitentiary, Oscar Melding, opened the door to her cell and closed it behind him, standing in front of her.
"Hello, Laura. You seem…fine…today."
"How is my daughter?" Laura asked, voice icy.
"Phoebe is doing just fine."
"Her name is FREYA!" Laura screamed, pulling on the shackles. Melding's heart raced, but he didn't show it.

Kesari Leon missed the sky. She missed the vastness of the dark and starlight sky at night, and the fresh air. And most of all, she missed the freedom that came with it. But that was just the thing. She'd gotten caught, been arrested, and now didn't get to see the sky. All because of a purposeful misunderstanding on the part of her government.

Shaking her head as she felt the vibrations of someone approaching, she cleared her mind of any thoughts of freedom for now. This was where she was stuck now, in the main yard of a prison, surrounded by people who would kill her without the shackles, both physical and of fear, keeping them back. They feared her, quite a few of them. Even with the power re-stricter, they were scared of the ability she'd been cursed with. And that was good, for now. It kept her safe.

"You keep looking up like you'll see something. One of these days, your neck'll get stuck like that." The voice of the other inmate, one of the closest to an ally she had in this damn place, reached her good ear. Trust Eloise to be loud enough for someone mostly deaf to hear.

"Maybe. Guess we'll have t' see how long it takes."
