She reaches over and slaps him in the shoulder. "Yes you're quite the smartass aren't you dear?" She shook her head as the cat gave a low yowl at the dog. "Oh hush Taffy."
There's Magic Here,Dear (0/0) (CLOSED!)
“Quite.” Claude agreed, trying to unsuccessfully stifle a grin. “But at least I’m smart, eh? Not drowning in student loan debt for nothin’.” He laughed, but recoiled a bit at Taffy’s hiss.
"Hm. You barely just surpass as smart. Most people are deep in student debt. I'm not of course but of you're nice enough life always seems to treat one better." She said with a shrug,as the cat ran off.
“I feel like you’re insinuating that I’m not nice, Crystal.” Claude sniffed, pretending to wipe a tear from his eye. “Frankly, I’m hurt.” He pouted, leaning back as Orpheus hopped up onto the couch and wedged himself between Crystal and Claude.
"Ha you, hurt?" She shook her head, as suddenly there was a loud crackle POP! Right from above her, and her book feel into her lap. "Ah the Book of Knowledge. Tell me what I must know." She held her hands out over it as it opened all by itself and came to a list of spells to stop people from gambling and drinking. She then began to laugh. "Always so pointed hm?" She looked up at you. "Looks like even the forces of the beyond want you to clean up your act."
(Hey! Sorry for the intermittent absences, but I’m just letting you know I’ll be lucky if I’m on at all this week. It’s midterms and hell week/the week of my show, so I probably won’t have a lot of time, I’m sorry!)
Claude winced at the sharp noises from the book’s appearance. His lip curled into a slight snarl at Crystal’s words. “That’s fucking inhumane, isn’t it? Using damn magic to stop people from doing harmless shit.” He scratched under Orpheus’s chin, eyeing the book with disdain. “Don’t even think about it. I’ll be damned if I let the ‘forces of the beyond’ dictate my life.”
"Oh I don't force it on people. The book is just smart. It appears only in times of need. I won't make you change but a little spell if you're careful never hurt anyone. Of course since you obviously won't agree to it, nothing I can do." She shrugged.
“Pray tell, why’s the time of need at this moment? Nobody’s dead or anything.” Claude drummed his chin with his fingers. “I can’t think of a single reason why that book needs to pop up right now.”
"It simply provides information, tips and spells when problems arise. Gambling and drinking included." She said pointedly.
“Barely even fuckin’ gamble, you act like I’m betting the house on the ponies every night. It’s just a game of poker once a month with some friends, chill out.” Claude groaned, already rather tired of Crystal acting like he was actively killing himself from the inside out. ”As for the drinking- again, it’s not blackout drunk binging, Crystal, it’s just a few drinks on the weekends.”
