Yeong laughed at Roa’s surprised tone. He didn’t look like the average type to be into men. People were often surprised and assumed that he was straight, judging by his appearance and line of work. While it was uncommon, it was still his life. He had found that he had an attraction to men since his adolescence. It started out as curiosity before turning into full on crushes. Soon, he began to properly flirt with and mess around with other men. He slept with both men and women, unsure of who he had done so more. He found himself more attracted to men, though. It was a preference that he had, and he stuck to it.

“Well sure, why not?” he hummed with a small shrug of his shoulders. A small grin formed on his lips at Roa’s embarrassment. “I like men.”

Yeong looked Roa up and down, not trying to be subtle about the way his eyes dragged along the others form. He was unashamed about his attraction to men, as well as with flirting. He was quite bold most of the time. Beating around the bush was boring, and he was a man that knew exactly what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to chase after it. He hummed as he looked back at Roa’s face.

“I mean, I’m not much of a romance guy either, but I could see guys reading it for the porn,” he said casually, shrugging his shoulders. Another thing he didn’t mind talking about- sex. He didn’t see the big deal about it, it was just something people did. It was human nature, so why be embarrassed?

A laugh escaped Yeong at the comment about not thinking he reads. “Can’t lie about that, I don’t much. More of a video kind of guy. Unless it’s in Español,” he replied.

Yeong picked up on the blush that spread across Roa’s face. It was easy to notice on the other man. He debated teasing him about it, but thought the talk about porn was enough. Clearly, it was, the man seeming quite flustered about the whole topic in general. He would be nice, for now at least. If Roa gave him the right signals, he would push a bit more.

He laughed when Roa gave such a shocked reaction to his bluntness. “Yeah, videos. You know what I mean? Or do you not watch videos and stick to reading?” he asked before humming to himself. “Ah, you don’t have to answer that, not if you don’t want to. Look at me, getting ahead of myself.”

“How about this- you give me your number, and I’ll check out one of these books of yours,” Yeong suggested, brows raised a bit. It was a confident offer, the implications clear by the tone of his voice and how their conversation had gone so far.

Yeong gave Roa a pointed look, looking like he was trying to see into the man’s soul. He was trying to get a read on how Roa was feeling. He wasn’t the best at feeling out social cues, but it was clear Roa wasn’t feeling the mood. It was fine, he would take his little loss and shrug it off. Who knows, things could change and the energy could switch up later- if there was a later. He didn’t have many real dates. He wasn’t a big relationship guy, usually not liking to be tied down due to getting restless and bored easily. He had made exceptions in the past and been in a couple of real relationships, but things always grew complicated due to cartel life. Whether that was the danger of it, the drugs, or it being illegal in the first place, his partners had always been disapproving. He could understand it, but it made things difficult in the end, considering there was no way out and he was to be the heir soon.

He took his smartphone out of the pocket of his shorts and pulled up the contacts app. He handed the phone over to Roa for him to put his information in. Notifications buzzed steadily, most being in spanish. To most they would seem harmless, but for anyone who had an understanding of Spanish, it was talk of moving hard drugs from location to location. “Ah, so maybe I can translate them easier on the web.”

Yeong’s brows raised, interest clearly piqued when Roa mentioned some of his books being written in Spanish. While it was only a basic, high school level of knowledge, it was still something he could appreciate. He would most likely end up reading those first. They might be a bit messy considering Roa wasn’t fluent, but they would be easy to pick apart. “Texas, huh? Never been there. I know there’s a lot of Spanish speakers over there. Mexicano and España slang are a bit different, but more or less easy enough to decipher,” he rambled on a bit.

The texts caught his attention, and knowing that Roa could understand basic Spanish, he tilted the phone away the moment he was done. He glanced at the messages, knowing they must have something to do with work. It would be easy to assume they were about just doing drugs, if that was the only word that someone knew. Though, it was a stereotype to assume that all Hispanics were involved in the cartel. He could deny it all he wanted and could get away with the lie, if Roa didn’t understand more of the message.

“Ah, that’s a nice thing to have. Not many sites have an easy Spanish option,” he hummed, stuffing his phone back into the pocket of his shorts. Most of the time he had to put things through a translator which ended up making things jumbled and not too legible. It was easier to just avoid things, in his opinion. “I’ll check out your Spanish ones first. Maybe send you my thoughts on your Spanish once I’m done,” he added with a little grin.
