Winter nodded slightly. "Yeah." he replied. He came out of the water, tugging at his clothes and grimacing. Yeah, they were clean now, but they were also sopping wet. He stomped around a little bit, trying to shake off some of the water.

"Good." Mycah nodded and hopped off the rock. "I haven't seen any more signs of the assassins." They looked around the valley, wondering where to go next. Should they keep going, or try and sneak up on the assassins as they searched for them. Mycah glanced at Winter and resisted the urge to smile. He looked slightly ridiculous in his dripping wet clothes.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter sighed softly, still tugging at the clothes. He didn't want them to hug his body, either, which wet clothes had a tendency to do. He kept stomping and shaking himself, almost doglike, as he tried to get them to dry a little more. "Alright." he replied.

Mycah looked back towards the woods to hide a small smile that had appeared on their lips. "What would you rather do? Have them hunt us, or hunt them?" They turned back to Winter, their orange eyes sparkling a bit more than usual.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter blinked at the question. "Considering I go squelch with every step right now…I don't think the second one is going to work out real well." he laughed faintly.

"Hmm… good point." Mycah nodded. "We keep going, then. Hopefully, you'll dry out by the time they catch up to us." They started walking around the lake, still heading away from their first camp. Mycah knew that they could go all the way to the ocean before they had to turn around and actually fight.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded, and walked with Mycah. Sure enough, he went squelch with each step. He had put his boots on and gathered up his weapons, putting them away. He ran a hand through his wet hair.

Mycah grimaced at the sounds Winter's clothes made. "Your clothes might dry out faster if you wring them out first." They looked over at him. They guessed Winter didn't want to strip in front of a complete stranger, but still…

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter stopped, and sighed. "Well yes, but I'd have to take them off, and…" He trailed off, shaking his head slightly. "Don't get me wrong, but…I'd rather not strip in front of a stranger." He shook his head again.

"I won't look," Mycah offered, stopping as well. "It can't be comfortable to be in those soaking clothes." They knew that from experience. And all of this squelching was really getting on their nerves.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter sighed softly. "Fine." He replied. He headed around behind a bush. He wasn't really prepared to bare his scars and tattoos to this person, especially not if Mycah knew what the tattoos meant. He started to take off his clothes to wrong them out.

Mycah shook their head and leaned against a tree to wait for Winter. They didn't know why Winter was so embarrassed about the whole thing, but they didn't want to make him mad. Then again, they wore long sleeves in all weathers so people would see their tattoos and freak out, so they couldn't really judge.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter's own tattoos were of a very different type than Mycah's. His were of binding, of holding back and control. On his back was a pentagram, the mark of the demon inside of him. He wrung out his clothes and got dressed again, coming back out. "Done." He said, eyes flickering slightly.

"Good. Let's go, then." Mycah straightened up and continued walking around the lake. Winter's flickering eyes worried them slightly. That, paired with the weird way WInter acted sometimes, added up to something strange. They wanted to ask him about it, but they weren't really wanting to get to know him all that well. Mycah glanced at Winter out of the corner of their eye, watching for anything else suspicious.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter ran his fingers through his hair, taking a deep breath. The demon was restless again, and he just hoped that it stayed down for a while longer. Forever would be great, but he couldn't get it out of him. He let out his breath in a sigh, shaking his head.

"Is everything okay?" Mycah asked, guessing that it was an innocent enough question. They'd probably just get the usual answer, but it was a start. "If something isn't, you should tell me. I might be able to help. We're in this together." They were more concerned about Winter doing something weird when they needed him than about his well-being, but Winter didn't need to know that.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter blinked, looking over at Mycah. "Yeahh. I'm fine." he replied slowly. "Just…going through some shit right now. I'm fine though. Really." he ran his fingers through his hair, giving Mycah a tight smile. The demon couldn't take control again for a while, but it didn't matter.

"Okay." Mycah nodded slightly and looked over at Winter. They weren't totally convinced, but Winter did look like he was going through something. They had found him half-blind and covered in blood, after all. And in the middle of the woods with no idea why he was there. "Good. If that changes, tell me."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded slightly. "Right. I will. Thanks." he replied, dropping his hands to his sides again and letting out a slow breath. Things would be fine. They'd be fine.

Mycah glanced over their shoulder, checking again to see if someone was following. The last few times, there had been nothing. But now… they saw a flicker of movement between the trees. Someone was there. The assassins had finally found them. A silver blur shot towards them– a knife. Mycah threw their arm up and a bolt of black knocked the knife out of the air. "They found us," Mycah said, though it was probably obvious by now.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded, and drew his weapons, spinning the daggers between his fingers, his blue eyes turning almost…murderous. He looked behind them, waiting for the assassins to come into the open. He wasn't going to just throw his daggers into the woods, not without a target.

From out of the woods came five figures dressed in all black. Unlike the first assassin, their faces weren't covered. Mycah could see three women and two men– no one they recognized, though. Instead of attacking them like they probably wanted Mycah to, they glanced around the area quickly, finding ways they could get out if they needed to.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter glanced at Mycah. "Shall I take care of them?" he asked, almost as if he were waiting for orders. Like a soldier, or an assassin. Or a chained animal. Either comparison worked, really.

"Go ahead." Mycah shrugged. They didn't really care who got ride of the assassins, as long as they got taken care of.
"Mycah Harrow. You are a hard person to find." One of the women stepped forward.
"Thank you." Mycah inclined their head towards the assassins, then flicked their fingers towards one of the assassins. A bolt of black flew towards her. She dodged, but the bolt still embedded itself in her shoulder.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter gave that strange grin, and leapt forward at the assassins, becoming almost a blur of motion as those daggers slashed out at the nearest one, the blades working in tandem.

The assassin blocked one of Winter's knives, but couldn't stop the next one. Mycah was feeling like these assassins had been hyped up a little too much. They weren't even that good at their jobs. While Winter engaged one of them, Mycah pointed towards another one and shot three bolts of black towards another assassin.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter continued to fight, his white hair drifting into his face a little as he fought. He didn't bother to brush it back, grinning ferally as he continued to fight.

Mycah stayed back– they were much better at ranged attacks, and they didn't want to get in Winter's way. He was looking a little scary. The assassin Mycah had targeted earlier gave in to her wounds and they searched for a new target.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter killed the assassin he had been fighting, and moved to the next one. The daggers were already bloodied, the blood running down the handles. He flicked them to try and get the blood off.

The assassin Mycah had targeted managed to dodge the first round and ran towards them. She'd probably heard about their less than ideal fighting skills. They took a few quick steps backward and glanced at Winter. He was doing great. A bit bloody, but great. Mycah turned back to their target. She was wielding two knives and had a murderous look in her eye. Wonderful.
