Asura growled again and stormed forward, following the demon outside. "What the hell is up with you? You were just fine a few minutes ago, and now you're acting like some rebellious emo teenager." That might not have been the best comparison, but it's all Asura could think of at the moment.

Zackary growled and snapped at him a nasty word in the Demon language. He clicked his teeth at the comparison, walking faster so he would lose the Demon tailing him intently.

Asura sighed. Maybe that wasn't the best thing to say. Now he felt guilty, knowing he had made the situation worse. "Fuck," he muttered, giving up on following the man and falling against the wall of the building. I really am a dick, aren't I? He thought bitterly, feeling pain in his chest and blinking rapidly to keep tears from forming. He sighed and slid down to the ground, not having the energy to move.

A few days later, Asura had stayed late at work again, which was a mistake considering how cold and dark it was outside. He shivered as he walked down the sidewalk toward his house, wishing he had brought an actual coat to work today. Or at least left to go home earlier.
