Perhaps the two that accidentally kidnap the merchant are already a couple and the merchant kinda just… stays with them and- I'm bad at writing romance.

Then the Person only likes one and the two people who did the kidnapping like each other and then the other person who likes one of them learns to like the other one as well then they all confess and there you go, everyone, get that

They both come for C at the same moment and since they can't make up their minds before both losing C, A and B agree to both kidnap him until they can come to an agreement. Then when C wakes up, behind B's back A pretends that B kidnapped them as well and that C and A are on the same side so then they'd escape and A would have C. But then feelings pop up.
