“Well I’m a good liar and my outfits great but I’m pretty sure I can’t pass as a dude forever,” she admits. Holding her hand.
True loves kiss (Lesbian romance O/O)
Aurelie nodded. “I think we’ll just have to tell him the truth and hope for the best. Maybe he’ll come around? And if he doesn’t, I honestly don’t know.”
Cat nodded. “Should we go now?” She asked wiping her face.
Aurelie nodded. “No time like the present,” she agreed, swinging her legs off of the bed. “God, I hate this dress.”
Cat looked at her. “You look so cute all dressed up,” she teased still holding her hand. She stood up with her.
Aurelie blushed. “Thanks, but I still want to throw this to the wolves,” she joked. She began walking. She was sure the maid had told her father already, and the other maid trailed after them.
Cat followed her still holding her hand. She kept her head low and stayed close to Aurelie.
After a bit of searching, Aurelie found her father. He grinned once he saw Cat, not giving Aurelie a chance to speak.
“So the spell is broken!” he exclaimed happily, pulling Aurelie into a crushing hug. “I knew you would find a suitable husband!” He let go of her. “What’s your name, lad?”
Cat pulled Aurelie closer after her father hugged. “Caterina Ricci,” she said bringing her hand up and taking off her hat. Her hair fell down.
“You’re a girl,” he gasped, his eyes widening. “Aurelie, is this a joke?”
“No, it’s not a joke!” Aurelie replied, a fire burning in her eyes. “She woke me up. You always said that whoever wakes me up from my enchanted sleep will marry me, and she woke me up.”
Cat gripped her hand. She kept her head down still. Standing right next to Aurelie. She glanced over at her to make sure she’s okay.
“You can’t marry a girl!” her father responded, frowning.
“Maybe it’s not common here, but did you know in other kingdoms the practice is common?” Aurelie responded. “Even with several of our allies, it is a common thing.”
“If I may speak your highness but in Rome we worship gods that have had lovers of all different genders,” Cat speaks up. “And we are one of the powerful empires.”
Aurelie’s father narrowed his eyes. “We only worship one god here, and I don’t think he appreciates that heresy,” he spat.
“Please, dad, try to understand,” Aurelie begged, not sure whether she was sad or angry.
“I suppose it was true love’s kiss that broke the spell,” Aurelie’s father mused, still looking angry.
Cat backed down slightly but decided to keep her head up as she looked at the king. She didn’t let go of Aurelie’s hand the whole time.
For several minutes, the king said nothing. “Dad?” Aurelie asked.
“I’m leaving to my rooms to think about this. Don’t follow me,” he warned, walking off briskly. Aurelie’s lip trembled, and she blinked, trying not to cry.
Cat looked up at Aurelie. She saw her trembling and hugged her. “it’s going to be ok. Let him take it all in he’s just shocked,” she whispers. “Do y out want to go to your room?”
Aurelie nodded and began walking, still holding Cat’s hand tightly. She didn’t talk for fear of crying.
Car walked with her remembering where Aurelie's bedroom is. She practically has the whole palace mapped out in her head. Once in her room, she sat Aurelie down. ”do you want to change?”
“You have no idea how much,” she responded, taking a shaky breath before heading to the wardrobe and donning a much less elaborate dress. It was still quite fancy, but easier to move in. It was probably one of her less fancy dresses. “Much better.”
Cat smiled at her. She walked over and kissed her again. It was short and sweet.
Aurelie smiled, taking her hands. "I love you," she whispered before kissing Cat.
“I love you too,” she says pulling away form the kiss for a second before kissing her again.
Aurelie kissed her back more passionately than before, putting all of her hope that things would work out into it. If not, well, she'd rather be with Cat than be princess.
Cat pulled away. She looked into Aurelie's eyes before getting on her knee. She got a small ring out. It was a band with her own drawings of flowers engraved into it. “Aurelie I love you. I love you so much and I want to be with you forever no matter what anybody else thinks. Will you marry me? If your father comes to his senses we’ll have a big fancy wedding you’ll probably have to get all dressed up and hate it. If he doesn’t then if you’ll come with me we can leave. Go far away from here to somewhere were we can live in peace.”
For a moment, Aurelie could only stare at Cat, her eyes wide. Then she nodded slowly. “Yes,” she replied, her voice tremulous with emotion. She blinked quickly, trying not to cry, but tears came away. “Yes! Yes!”
Cat stood up smiling wide. She hugged Aurelie. Tears running down her own cheek. She pulled after after a long few seconds and with trembling hands slipped the ring on her finger.
Aurelie was crying harder now, but she smiled when Cat put the ring on her finger. "I love it," she gasped, staring at it for a moment. Her tears began to slow down slightly. "And I love you."
Cat smiled wiping away her own tears then Aurelie’s. “Glad to hear. It’s not much but I hoped you’d like it. I love you too,” she said her tears stopping.
Aurelie hugged Cat tightly, smiling so hard she felt her face might break. She had finally managed to (mostly) stop crying. "I'm so glad that I met you."
