Alto didn't get home until late. He was giddy and smiling when he read Halo's note. His smile faded a bit but the feeling inside of him didn't diminish. He ate dinner quickly and went upstairs to Halo's room. The door was closed and he knocked quietly.
Twins Rp One on One
Halo rested on his bed, curled up. He had thrown up what little food he had managed, his body aching to much to do anything. He heard the quiet knock, not answering. He hides his bruised eye in his pillow, not wanting Alto to see him like this.
"Halo? Can I come in?" Alto asked, growing a little worried.
"Mmm…" He grunts quietly, but loud enough for the other to hear.
Alto opened the door and bent down next to Halo. "Hey man. What's wrong?"
Halo nuzzles into the pillow. "Sick…" He mumbles in reply.
"Clearly." Alto went and got a thermometer. "Open your mouth so I can check if you have a fever."
Halo nuzzles into his blankets. "I'm fine. I just need sleep." He says softly.
"C'mon just let me see your face." Alto pleaded, reaching out and stroking his head.
Halo shakes his head. "I'm fine. I just need sleep." he says softly. He leans into his brothers touch, sighing softly.
"Stop saying that. C'mon can you sit up?" Alto stood up and sat down next to Halo, still stroking his hair.
"Just… No. I need sleep, Alto. I really am fine." He mutters, refusing. He didn't want Alto to see him like this.
Alto frowned and peered over the side of his head towards his face. "Why are you covering up your face?"
"I'm fine Alto." Halo mutters, pulling his blanket over his face.
"No you're not." Alto muttered, pinning down Halo's arms and pulling the blanket back.
Halo winces when he's pinned down, Alto grabbing a bruise. He keeps his face turned away from his brother, biting his busted lip.
Alto let go of his hands and gently took Halo's, turning it toward him. "Holy shit Halo..How did you think you were going to hide this from me."
Halo looks away as his face is revealed. "D-don't look/" He croaks weakly.
"Hey, what happened?" Alto asked softly, rubbing Halo's shoulders.
Halo shifts before slowly sitting up. He was shirtless, since he had some cuts and gashes. Bruises were already forming. "F-football…" He says quietly.
"Oh my god Halo, you can't do this anymore." Alto said.
Halo looks down. He knew he needed to stop, but he took the beatings to protect his twin.
"You gotta stop trying to protect me. And you should stop doing football." Alto said sternly, reaching out and gathering Halo up in his arms and hugging him tightly.
Halo bites his lip. "It's my job to keep you safe, idiot." He replies softly. He hugs his brother back, wincing a little.
"Don't be getting yourself beat up for it though." He kissed the top of his head and laid him back on the bed.
Halo hisses through his teeth, trying to breathe. It hurt everywhere.
"Here let me get you something." Alto said, walking into the bathroom and coming out a minute later with some medicine. He gave it to Halo and frowned down at him. "No more getting beat up for me okay? I'm serious."
Halo nods, just resting there. He was so tired, he just wanted to sleep and not have to worry anymore. He looks up, "I make no guarantee's. They beat me up because of my sexuality, and because I'm trying to protect you. It's the only way I can keep you safe." He mutters, raising a hand to affectionately pat his cheek.
"No it's not Halo. If they don't like who you are, you clearly shouldn't be there. If they have a problem with me, then they can come to me about it."
Halo shakes his head. "I'm the older twin which means I need to take care of you." He mutters. "And I would rather take those punches then see you get hurt."
