"Okay, first off if reporters ask we are NEVER a thing. Second, do not touch me unless told to, and third please don't make me fight you." Aspyn sighs, "Oh shit sorry…you can play now."
Under a Purple Sky//Open
He sat hunched over the guitar, large studio headphones wrapped around his neck as he played a soft, soulful song in the key of Bm. A microphone rested in front of his face, but he didn't sing, nor say a word. All of his concentration appeared to be on the guitar as he sat by himself in the recording room.
(OOfies, I wrote that response before you said you were gonna fix it))
Aspyn listened to Luka, "I believe we can work this out." She whispers to herself and starts to pay attention to him playing.
(she left the room anyways)
Eventually, he looked up from the guitar, muting the strings with his right hand as he leaned towards the mic. It was the only way they'd be able to communicate, since the recording room was soundproof. "Alright, can you loop that last part for me? I can try and record the backups for the chorus."
I'd rather her sing with me, he thought, setting the guitar aside, But she doesn't seem to be in a good mood.
The producer nodded, and fiddled with the vast array of technology in front of him as Luka puled the headphones over his ears. Soon, everyone could hear the recording of Luka's playing as he nodded his head at tempo.
"Under a purple sky," he began singing, his voice soft and light as a backup's voice should be, "The distance between you and I, is too much to over come. Too much to overcome! Under a painted sky, will I ever get to see your eyes? Reflect the light from the sun? Reflect the light from the sun?"
He held the last note out for another measure before glancing over at the producer, who held up an okay symbol. Luka slipped the headphones from his ears and nodded, returning the sign.
"Ask him if he wants me to sing with him. I'm willing to." Aspyn tells the producer, waiting for an answer. He asks Luka, "She wants to sing with you. You want her?"
Luka tilted his head, pulling the headphones back one. "Can you repeat that?"
"You want Aspyn to sing with you?" The producer asks Luka again. Aspyn was next to the producer, waiting for Luka to say something. She wanted to see the mix of their voices, hoping they would mix well.
He shrugged. "If she wants too. I just gotta hook up the other mic."
Aspyn walked into the actual studio to record, "So if we work this out this will be our first song as a duo, and it will get released, yeah?" She looked at Luka, 'He isn't to shabby, pretty cute.' she thought to herself.
Luka shrugged again, grabbing the mic stand in the corner of the room. "Depends if Don likes it or not."
"He basically wrote this song and he picked us out of multiple other people to sing it. I think he will want it released." Aspyn mumbles, "We need to get to know each other better, because I need to know how keep my tone with you.
(pokeeeeeeeeeeee)
(I thought I sent it, but it never did)
"Makes sense," he said, picking up a random cord from the ground and plugged it into the mic. Finally, he tapped the pickup. "Check?" He asked, making eye contact with the producer.
The producer gave okay sign, Aspyn then turns to Luka, "So we are practicing Purple sky right?"
"Only song we know," he pointed out, slipping his headphones on.
"I mean I know others, not written by Don." Aspyn mutters, standing in front of the mic.
The producer counted down from 5 to one, and the beginning of the song started. Luka nodded his head, closing his eyes as he became absorbed into the music.
(Who starts first?)
(Luka's backup, so Aspyn)
(Oh shit)
Aspyn begins her voice raspy like normal, "Under a purpler sky…"
(bump)
The producer spoke to Luka as the music shut off, who transmitted the message. "You messed up the words. It's 'purple', not 'purpler.'"
(OOF I MESSED IT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP)
