Ada scanned the horizon. An empty wasteland tinted with brown and grey and sunset rose, the smallest sliver of a setting sun filtering in through the clouds. She mumbled for Sebastian and Lyn to stay by her side, that there might be danger hidden in between craggy, malformed rocks.

And there lay the small city, a resting place for the time being. High stone walls surrounded it, cracks and moss showing wear over the twenty two years it had been since Adelard had helped found the place. She secretly wondered if anyone there she knew was even still alive after everything.

"Stay close, we're almost there and given how densely populated it was the last time I was there, there might be…. trouble." she murmured.

(i'm sorry, is there a particular order we're supposed to be going in?)

(Nope! Any order is fine. I gotta go consume the foods, be back later!)

"Do you really think there's going to be more of them here? Not to be dramatic, but," Sebastian sighed, lazily combing their hair off their face, "I'm exhausted." They'd all been walking since dawn, the city a promise just upon the horizon, just out of view. Sebastian, only half present, had built the city up to fantastical levels in their mind making promises to themselves of fresh food and soft beds, but seeing it they were hit by a sweeping wave of disappointment. From the decrepit look of the walls of roughly piled rock, they'd be surprised if there was even running water. Glancing at Ada to make sure her focus was elsewhere, as she wasn't often receptive to their complaints, Sebastian leaned over and muttered to Lyn. "This place is gross. This is not what I was expecting. I don't understand exactly why she keeps us sleeping in filth, or why we're traveling at all, really."

(I lied I'm apparently [redacted word] and in the way because the echolalia was strong in me tonight, whatever. anyways I'm back lol)

"I heard that. The world as it was could never always perfect and cushy and lovely, all rainbows and smiles, you think the end of the world would be better?" she grunted, climbing down the steep hill and through the maze of roughly waist-high rocks and metal scrap scattered around the place.

(Do y'all have a preference for how Tori should pop in?)

(What word? The one I censored earlier? Sorry I'll remove it, I just got a little venty but this probably isn't the place for it.)

Tori stumbled through the ruined city, clutching her backpack to her chest. Her leg was clumsily bandaged, but blood was starting to seep through the bandages. Her face was paler than usual, and she was about to give up on her search for anything when she heard voices. Human voices.
"Hello?" Tori managed to croak out, leaning against a crumbled wall for support. "Who's… there?"

Lyn moved a hair strand out of her face. “Who knows, she might be taking us to the best places she can find and you wouldn’t even know it.”
It was the best thing she could say. The long walk had effected her mood, and though she wouldn’t admit it, she was exhausted too. She looked toward their destination, trying to assess how dangerous it was. As far as she could tell, the stone walls seemed like a solid form of protection. But she looked closer and saw the cracks and moss, putting doubt on that assessment. She looked to Ada with her squinted eyes and grim expression. Lyn followed.

Lizaria walked along the halls full of ancient artifacts.
She sighed, " Is there anyone here other than me?"
She looked in her belt at the picture of her family and grazed her finger over the image of her younger brother.
" Don't worry bud, i'll find a way to avenge you, Somehow…"
She then looked outside and saw figures moving about. readying her weapon, she went towards the entrance doors, and snuck her way , hiding behind a statue.

Nikki had been alone for years now. She had grown up in this wasteland, and settling down in a ruined city wasn't the weirdest thing she had done. The fact that the entire city was crawling with zombies didn't really bother her once she had gotten a little place set up and she actually had a pretty good place set up. Her current residence sat in one of the sturdiest buildings in the city, an old metal warehouse that she had turned into a base, reinforced with brick and traps galore. Her little hideout was where she spent most of her time. Besides times like this.

Sadly, the only thing she lacked in her hideout was food, and parts to continue building her truck so she could get out of this city. And so, once a week, she ventured out of hiding, armed to the teeth and carry the biggest backpack she could find. Her mission was to bring as much food and supplies back to her home anyway, and she couldn't be making more trips than necessary. Her footsteps sounded loud as she wandered down one of the store lined streets, but she assured herself that she was being as quiet as possible. She didn't need any focus on her, whether from the undead or the living.
