She shook her head, "Like I said, it's the one thing that held my life together, I don't think that she has."

Hailee smiled, pleased that her brothers were defending her.

Alex went silent, now quite aware of how close Matteo was standing to her.

Matteo's hand slowly made its way over to Alex's.

A small smile appeared on her face and she didn't object in the slightest as the elevator continued to go down.

Their fingers slowly intertwined, and Matteo smiled softly.

She grinned slightly and leaned against him lightly, glancing at Hailee to make sure she wasn't watching.

Hailee had indeed been watching, but a small smile played on her lips. She was happy that Matteo had found someone.

Alex squeezed his hand lightly and looked up at him as the elevator continued to go down.

Matteo leaned against the wall, waiting for the elevator to open. Alex's hand in his felt right, as if it was meant to be.

The elevator seemed to be going quite slow and Alex didn't like it, she wasn't the most patient of people and she focused on Matteo as she waited for the elevator to open.

Hailee noticed the elevator being slower than usual. Why is it going slow? We should have been out already.

"Is this normally how fast the elevator goes?" Alex asked, not caring if Hailee saw her with Matteo.

"No. It's supposed to go faster. We should have been out by now."

She looked around the elevator and frowned, "Are we stuck?"

Hailee jumped onto the ceiling of the elevator, sticking. She pulled open the hatch at the top and climbed out.

"Is it still moving?" Alex asked, walking over to the open hatch and looking through it to try to see if she could see the cables moving, "Otherwise is there a set of doors nearby that we could try to get out from?"

"We're not moving," Hailee said.
"I can fix it," Gabe said softly.

She turned to Gabe with a smile, "Please do, I don't feel like trying to get out from a closed set of elevator doors."

Hailee put her hand down. Gabe grabbed it and she pulled him up.

She watched them climb up and she smiled, knowing fully well that she could probably get out of the elevator on her own but she was actually enjoying the elevator ride this time.

With Hailee and Gabe distracted, Matteo took the opportunity to get closer to Alex. He grabbed her and pushed against the wall, using his height to appear in control.

Alex was a little surprised by Matteo, but she didn't say anything, looking up at him with a small smirk instead.

"I'm gonna wipe that smirk off your lips," Matteo drawled.

"Oh?" She challenged, "And how are you going to do that?" She put her hands on her hips and continued to smirk, genuinely curious about what he was going to do.

Matteo leaned down and kissed her on the lips passionately.

She kissed him back just as passionately, a small smile on her face as she looped her arms around his torso.

"Almost done guys," Hailee called from above.

Alex pulled away from Matteo for a moment, "Alright," She called up to them before pressing her lips back to his.

Matteo smirked against her lips. I knew I could get that smirk off your face.
