Corbin knew he would be so, so much more protective of Dragomir now, after what had happened. There was no way in cold hell that the king would let anyone make Mir cry like that again, there was no having it. He held the man's hand with almost a happy tune, content with all of this in general.
Mir then remembered, “Oh yeah, my concubine bracelet. When should we get that? And why do I have to have jewelry in the first place? Is it required of concubines?” He looked up at the king, clinging to his hand happily.

"We can get it after visiting the doctor," Corbin assured Mir, looking down at the man with a nod.
"And it is, yes," the king admitted. "Every status had jewelry they need to wear at times, but concubines have to wear the jewelry most all the time in general."
“Huh. Ok then. So I should keep my bracelet on at all times so no one mistakes me for an intruder and hurts me?” He clung to the king’s arm, looking calm and happy.

"Yes, that would definitely be for the best," Corbin agreed. "Until we get it, it'll be best for you not to leave my side." The king was happy Mir at least looked happy enough. He hummed, his second hand coming over to rest on Mir's good arm as they walked.
“Am I safe in my rooms?” He asked softly, wondering if he should lock his door at night. He glided along next to Corbin, resting his cheek against the king’s side, trying to remember what else he needed to ask to get sorted out. He was still thinking of a way to make… those noises… He blushed at the thought, now nervous and wondering how it would work out…

"You should be, yes," Corbin said. "No one is allowed in except me, especially without permission." Corbin was quite happy walking with Mir like this, the two so close and relaxed. Anyone who see them might actually think they were in love, or something along those lines.
Mir relaxed at that. “Oh good.” He snuggled close, feeling better about that situation now, and incredibly pleased he really had a room all to himself. He couldn’t wait to get his wages and start redecorating. He let Corbin lead the way as he daydreamed about redesigning the room to something less… wh*re-like.

Corbin smiled down at Mir as he watched the half fae daydream, leading them back to the doctor's office. This time, Corbin handled opened the door himself, making no big deal about it as he and Mir walked in.
Mir looked up, snapping out of his thoughts when they stopped at the door and stepped inside. He looked around, having not really been paying attention to what the doctor’s office looked like the first time around, mostly just unfocused from lack of sleep and pain. As he looked, his stomach most inconveniently growled. He blushed and ducked his head in embarrassment.

The room was airy, at least as much as one could be with the slit windows of the palace exterior. It was larger, various tools of the trade lined up neatly. It seemed the doctor could do almost anything from the things out. She looked up when the two came in, looking pleased.
"Ahh, I'm glad you two came, here-" The doctor was interrupted by the stomach growl, Corbin chuckling some.
"Have you two had breakfast yet?" The doctor asked, switching gears. "Come, come, you can have some of mine until the king remembers to get yours sent up." Corbin looked away, a bit ashamed.
"You're always forgetting to eat, Corbin, you know that's not good for you."
Mir shook his head at the offer of eating the doctor’s breakfast. “Oh no, it’s yours! Don’t worry, I’m used to being hungry. I can wait until I can get my own food.” He went over to the examination table and climbed up onto it, his legs swinging over the edge when he settled down. He smiled reassuringly at Corbin, showing he didn’t blame him in the slightest.

"Alright then, just make sure Corbin doesn't make you wait too long, okay?" The doctor moved to the table side when Mir sat down, moving to undo the wrappings on his arm to check and reclean the wound.
"Have you been experiencing any pains recently?" she asked. Corbin made his way to stand on the other side of Mir, sighing softly.
"We'll get breakfast after this," he stated, chuckling weakly.
Mir smiled at Corbin before replying to the doctor, “Just while we were at the tailor’s. And it’s gotten achy since then. Just a dull throb.” He flinched badly when his wound started getting cleaned again, whimpering softly.

Corbin carefully took Mir's good hand in his own, giving it an reassuring squeeze. The doctor pulled her hand away for a moment, turning to get a less powerful painkiller than the one from the day before.
"Here," she said. "But this time I want you to wait for water before you take it, okay?"
Dragomir nodded and took the pill, waiting obediently for the water to wash it down. His stomach grumbled again, complaining. Mir flushed and his head drooped from embarrassment.

Corbin sighed softly, chuckling just a bit when his own stomach growled.
"A-ah…" He blushed some, glancing at Dragomir. The doctor came back over, holding a glass of water and a loaf of bread. She handed the water over, breaking the bread in half and offering some to both of them.
"I'm not taking no for an answer," she said before anyone could object. "Especially you- you need something in your stomach to handle the medicine."
Mir nodded and eagerly wolfed down the bread, looking absolutely delighted at a simple piece of food. “Oh it’s so good!! It’s not tough and dry like I normally eat!” His eyes sparkled as he scarfed it down, trying not to eat too fast.

Corbin was able to eat much slower, smiling softly at Dragomir's delight.
"Well, that's good then! The palace has a lot of good food, I'm sure Corbin will still take you to get more. Right?" The doctor turned to Corbin, playfully elbowing his chest.
"Mph- of course!" The king said with soft laughter as he swallowed his bite of food.
Dragomir finally finished the food, looking a bit more satisfied now and then took the painkiller with the water, draining the glass. He looked extremely happy that he could have gotten so lucky to get this position… He made a tired noise and closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again and sitting up straight, not wanting to accidentally fall asleep before night time fell.

Corbin finished his own food, smiling still. Dragomir looked so much better than he had before, it did Corbin's heart good to know he could help so much.
The doctor turned back to Mir's arm soon enough, once she had waited for the medicine to kick in. Corbin held Dragomir's hand, offering an assuring smile. The day was going much better, that was for sure.
Mir smiled back at Corbin, swinging his legs idly as he let the doctor turn back to cleaning his wound, leaning against Corbin a bit. “So, breakfast after this, and then what? Do you have something you need to do, Corbin?” He felt totally comfortable calling the king by his given name, kind of forgetting the other’s position of power. If Corbin needed to leave him to do something, he’d probably just stay in his rooms and clean.

"Well, after this we need to visit the vaults to get you your jewelry, but after that I do have a meeting I need to attend. You can come if you want, of course. Just some general matters to attend to, though." So not a war council meeting, then. Corbin hummed some as Mir leaned on him, smiling some. It really was easy for him to smile around the halfling, it was quite nice.
Mir nodded. “I’d like to come to the meeting, just so I can know how I’m supposed to behave during meetings. Will I stand next to your chair or what do you want me to do?” He wondered if he should act lovey-dovey whenever possible…

"Understandable." Corbin chuckled softly. "And you would be left standing for quite some time. I think it'd be best if you sit with me. If you're not comfortable with that, of course, we can always arrange for a chair or cushion for you." The king hummed some as the doctor finished up her work with Mir's arm, patting his shoulder.
"All done. Now, you two better go get some food, doctor's orders."
Mir nodded and thanked the doctor, hopping off the table. “What do you mean, sit with you? Do you mean on your lap??” He didn’t look uncomfortable with that idea, at all. In fact he thought he might enjoy it, and it would help him keep up their concubine and master facade.

"Yes, that is one option." Corbin led Dragomir out of the doctor's rooms, back towards their rooms. Breakfast should be waiting for them there. It always was, even when Corbin forgot about it. He just had such a strange sleep schedule some days, the cooks never knew just when to send it up until they'd heard Corbin was up and about. The king kept his hand in Dragomir's, humming some.
Mir stayed glued to the king’s side, and asked, “Would be fine with me sitting in your lap?” He then asked, “Should I act lovey towards you when appropriate during the meeting or should I just stay still and quiet?”

"That would be perfectly fine," Corbin confirmed. "And being more affectionate when you deem it to be so would be appropriate, yes." Corbin offered just a small smile, his second hand on Mir's arm.
(Which was appropriate? Sit still stay quiet or lovey dovey??)
