I couldn't find it, so I assume I was just too sad to keep it around or smn. Idk.
But here it is! Again!!

Yay! Found it! Where'd we leave off?

I…. I think they were going somewhere?

Shrugs, then chuckles Maybe. 'Tis indeed a tragedy of comedy, for we have no recollection of that which we ought to remember.

exactly!
Mayhap we begin at a different situation? Rebuild this masterpiece once forgotten?

person_off

Alas, I fear we may need to in the end. Mayhaps we should start again after Wren hath died and went away?

person_off

ah, that would work out just nicely. And Ren has been living alone for the allotted time his beloved was inactive?

person_off
Deleted user

Indeed. 'Tis truly a tragedy. Now, shall we start this roller coaster of emotions and plot twists again?

person_off
Deleted user

Yes we shall!!

It had been two months, three weeks, and five days since Wren's… demise. Ren would have counted the hours, seconds, milliseconds, but lost track. His mind had been an empty abyss, a wandering soul as the hybrid attempted to go back to living a normal life, whatever that was. But the chasm Wren left wide open could never be filled. Nothing was enough of a distraction to keep Ren away from the crippling sorrows. He would wake up late, go about simple things, make an effort to tidy the apartment, then go back to bed again. A shell of who he once was.

Broad grin Then we shall!

Wren wakes in a dark, damp place. It smells of earth and dust, but he doesn't care. He's warm. He knows he has something he needs to go do, but can't bring himself to do it yet. He sighs silently and without breathe. Where am I?

He slowly starts to remember, and groans. Oh, shit. Ren'll be messed up about this. At least we dealt with those scientists.

Slowly, he works his way out of the earth, taking a breath as soon as he feels cool autumn air on his face. He grins broadly. Well, here I am. Now… to find Ren.

Ren slumped on the couch, turning on the tv so some mind numbing show while he tentatively started to eat his pitiful breakfast of frozen waffles.

Only a moment later, something seemed to change. There was… a different feeling in the air. Ren couldn't put a finger on it, but it seemed like… hope

It took Wren a few days, and short hops through the world, but he eventually found a trace of Ren. A faint sense of joy, from before. He recognizes the area, and laughs. Well… of course he didn't move too far away. I wouldn't either.

And after that, it was only a matter of time. He walked up to the cottage, and knocks. Self-consciously, he checks his clothes: a worn brown leather jacket, form grey fitting jeans, a short-sleeved blue t-shirt. Satisfied, he knocks, then waits.

Ren froze, then turned off the television as he skaily rose to his feet, dragging his wings behind him. He checked his clothes as well, making sure he looked somewhat decent, even in baggy shorts and a much too large shirt before unlocking the door and peeking outside.

"Oh my…. God…." He mumbled, slowly pulling the door open wider while his eyes flooded with tears. "Oh my god!!"

Wren grins sheepishly, and speaks aloud for the first time. Strangely, his voice is steady as ever. "Hey."

He tilts his head. "Can I come in?"

Ren burst through the door, clinging tightly to Wren like he was the only thing that mattered, which wasn't far from the truth.
"I thought I lost you…" He whimpered, smoothing his hands up and down the other's back

Wren chuckles, wrapping his arms around Ren carefully. "Hey, careful there. I'm not the same as I was before."

He strokes the other's back gently, soothingly. "Not for long, you didn't."

Ren pulled back just slightly, cupping his hands over Wren's face. "Are you alright?" He whispered, fear in his eyes.

"If by 'alright' you mean no longer dead or dying, then yes, I am alright." Wren chuckles, leaning in and kissing Ren gently.

Ren leaned into the embrace, tangling their lips and rocking his hips gently against Wren's. "Don't fucking do that ever again." He whined

"What, die, or come back after I die?" Wren teases. Gently, he disentangles himself from Ren.

"Let's talk. I need some coffee, too." he says, making his way to the kitchen.

Ren nodded, still in shock and attempting to process the information. "Oh o-of course, yeah. I've got coffee."

Wren doesn't have most of his magic, so as the coffee brews, he settles down at the kitchen table and looks at Ren intently. He doesn't speak, waiting for Ren to say something first.

Ren cleared his throat, settling into one of the stools next to the counter as he watched the coffee drip.
"Why?" He finally choked, tearing up slightly. "What happened?"

"I died, just as I said I would. Remember?" Wren murmurs, raching over and grasping one of Ren's hands gently.

Ren held his head, nodding gently while he smoothed his finger's over Wren's. "I didn't know if you coming back was just a false reassurance. I was so scared." He mumbled, looking back up at wren with his big brown eyes

Wren snorts. "I don't do false reassurances. Well, usually. But I knew I would come back."

He stares back, then grins. "I don't have much of the strength or powers that I used to, but I still have some of them."

A moment later, they're standing in the bedroom.

Ren smiled faintly, then gasped once they were in the other room, looking around while he chuckled. "Oh, so you can still do that, huh?" He laughed, playfully slugging Wren on the arm. "Does it hurt though? To have those things gone?"

"Just short range." Wren replies, eyes focused on Ren.

"No, not really. Even without most of my old abilities gone, I can probably still kick your ass in just about everything." he grins.

Ren laughed hard, rocking gently against Wren as he smoothed his hand through the other's much more human hair. "Yeah, I thought so"
