"They're little mushroom shaped snacks. The tops are chocolate." She said, making a face at Hinata as he bumped her, making her stumble slightly. She quickly payed for the Kara-age, before slipping off to find Cassidy. "A…friend told me to keep an eye out for them."

@Purple_Sunglow

“Hm..maybe this isn’t it then. But if we find some, I’d like to try them. They sound delicious.” He pulled another interesting snack off the shelf he wanted to try. He glanced up at her, “You seem a little distracted, is everything okay?”

@croccin-champagne

"They might be somewhere over there." Hinata was already slipping off once more, with a mischievous grin sent her way. "Hm? Oh, yeah, no, I'm fine. Just thinking. Here, stick that in my basket."

@Purple_Sunglow

He tossed the snack into her basket, “Thanks..” he pulled the collar of his sweatshirt up to cover his neck a bit more, “I like to think too…what’s your favorite thing to think about?”

@croccin-champagne

"People." She said, tapping his shoulder to let him know to follow her, so they could keep talking, before starting down the aisle and scanning the shelves. "What makes them tick, the people I know and don't know. Their stories, too."

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy nodded, following her lead, “People can be really interesting like that..that’s why I want to study psychology. Are you interested in psychology?” He found something else and put it in the basket.

@croccin-champagne

"Something like that, I guess." Tango said, nodding. "So you want to be a psychologist in the future? Any particular reasons?"

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy shrugged again, “Not really, I guess. It just really interests me..” he grinned at the thought, “Probably a clinical psychologist, I like talking to and helping people.”

@croccin-champagne

"An optimist, I'm guessing." There was a crash from somewhere near the front, followed by cursing, but Tango didn't jump, or seem at all bothered. Just continued her perusing. "What all do you find interesting about it?"

@Purple_Sunglow

Cassidy looked over to the front, caught off guard, “Um…it’s the inner workings of individual people’s thoughts. What they do and why they do it. I don’t know why it’s interesting to me, it just is. Maybe that’s why I like to write too.”

@croccin-champagne

Hinata's laughter carried over the shelves to Tango's ears, and her lips twitched, almost like fighting a smile. "The mind is an interesting place, for sure. What kind of things do you write about?"

@Purple_Sunglow

“People, mostly. I like sitting in the bus with my notebook and writing down random conversations I hear. It’s great for making characters.” He pondered a thought for a minute, “Like how I made character based off of you named Gabrielle who talked to ghosts…crazy right?” He chuckled, “It’s dumb but very fun. A fun thought.”

@croccin-champagne

She stilled, pausing half way to grabbing something off the shelves. The moment lasted exactly two seconds, before she was snorting, picking the item up. "Too bad ghosts don't exist, huh?" She sounded so convincingly casual about it, that her hesitation almost seemed like some fluke.

@Purple_Sunglow

“Yeah…sometimes I think they do. Like a glimpse of something in your peripheral vision, a lost item being found in the middle of your living room. It’s either ghosts or angels and they just won’t tell me!” He laughed, “Rude.”

@croccin-champagne

"You don't think it's your eyes playing tricks on you?" She asked, turning to look over at him as she set the item back on the shelf. People were less likely to guess at her…abilities, if she played the part of the skeptic. "Or you just forgetting where you left something?"

@Purple_Sunglow

“Yes, but that’s not interesting, is it? What’s life if every mystery is explained by the blink of an eye or a simple mistake?” The corner of his mouth curled into a smile, “Even scientists try to make time travel right? And time travel is like an invitation for alternate realities. So if skeptics like scientists are interested in other worlds, why couldn’t there be other beings in the reality we’re living in now? What’s more believable? Non-physical beings or the ability to travel in time?”

@croccin-champagne

"The ability to travel through time, probably. Technology can accomplish it." She said, quirking an eyebrow slightly. It was obvious, the playfulness of the conversation, in the small twinkle in her eyes. "Ghosts, on a supernatural level, are along the same line as fairies."

"Picture it." Hinata said, drifting into the aisle and flicking her nose. "Me in fairy wings."

@Purple_Sunglow

“And fairies are among the same line of unicorns, which in my option are much more believable than giraffes.” He laughed, “Deer have antlers, rhinos have horns, what’s so crazy about a horse with a horn? Now giraffes—they defy the laws of physics! They’re so tall they’re babies have to fall like what, six feet? And don’t get me started on their necks. So what’s so unbelievable about the supernatural?” He clasped his arms behind the small of his back, “Call me crazy, but I just don’t know about these things.”

@croccin-champagne

"Magic. I stopped believing in magic when I was five." She said, shaking her head as her lips turned up in a half smile. As usual, it was sharper than necessary, but not a sharpness directed at him. "So why would I believe in it now? And as for unicorns, if you're talking specifically a horse with a horn, sure. Anything beyond that..not so much."

@Purple_Sunglow

“You don’t gave to believe in Magic, just having an open mind is enough.” He hummed, eyes turning back to the shelves, “These bags are almost as colorful as magic.”

@croccin-champagne

"Magic is colorful now?" She sounded amused, batting at Hinata as he poked around her basket once she assumed Cassidy wasn't paying attention.

@Purple_Sunglow

“I always assumed so.” He shrugged, taking one off the shelf and putting it in the basket, “Haven’t you watched any Disney movies?”

@croccin-champagne

"No?" She said, tilting her head slightly and earning her a shocked and offended gasp from Hinata, who looked scandalized.

@Purple_Sunglow

That only made him smile more, “No? Okay, would you like to come over to my house and watch a Disney movie with me, then?” What a perfect way, a perfect situation to ask to see her again. How much luckier could he get?

@croccin-champagne

Hinata's scandalized expression quickly turned to a grin as Tango blinked in surprise, the former elbowing her playfully. "You're…asking me to spend more time with you?"

@Purple_Sunglow

“Only If you’re going to accept…?” He braced himself as if waiting for a physical blow to the face.
Noah, his brother would be absolutely ecstatic to have someone over, he knew. It almost never happened or worked out given that Noah didn’t have many friends of his own.

@croccin-champagne

"I-…if you really are inviting me, then of course." She said, looking incredibly confused and slightly startled, two expressions that were rare on her. She was very much better at interacting with the dead.

@Purple_Sunglow

“Wonderful!” He relaxed his tensed shoulders in relief, “Then perhaps we can meet under the cherry tree after school tomorrow and I can walk you to my house..?” He offered tentatively, finding the courage to look into her eyes again.

@croccin-champagne

"That…sounds great." She nodded slowly, eyes flickering to Hinata as though looking for confirmation that that was a good thing to say. "I can bring snacks, if you'd like."

@Purple_Sunglow

“Absolutely,” He beamed, unable to contain his excitement. “If we haven’t finished all these snacks we’re getting now too.” He laughed, looking down at their basket.
