"Okay," Bridge responded stupidly, sitting down again a little closer to where Max worked.

Max couldn't help but smile a bit, not caring that Bridge was sitting closer to where he was now.

@bubblegum

Bridge was still nervous and wary, but a little less so now that he'd actually made an interaction. Finishing his hot chocolate, he looked down at his hands to see a small golden shine coming from them. Not now…god, not now. Control your gosh dang emotions.

(Sorry about that!)

Max glanced at the clock, almost instantly turning around and walking into the Employee's Only room. His shift was finally over and he could go home.

@bubblegum

Oh. Okay. Shucks, Bridge thought to himself, standing without knowing why. “Wait!” He squeaked out, a glimmer of gold dripping off his hand.

Max had been about to step into the room when the other boy talked, making him turn around and glance at him. "Yes?"

@bubblegum

Bridge blushed, quickly feeding the golden puddy back into his hand, then looking up. "Um…uh…canIhaveyournumber?" He asked, looking away nervously.

"Hm?" Max asked, taking a moment to understand what he had said. "Oh–um–sure."

@bubblegum

"Sorry," Bridge immediately apologized without really knowing what it was for. "It's just - never mind. You can just write it down somewhere."

"It's fine," Max quickly replied, going over to the counter and writing down his actual number. The other didn't look like he was looking for a hookup or one-night stand, unlike the one before.

@bubblegum

"T-thank you," Bridge stuttered as he took the paper, catching a golden drip of nervousness just before it fell.

"You're welcome." Max smiled brightly at him, a small smile staying on his lips after the big smile disappeared.

@bubblegum

Aw shoot dxghjiou
"W-well, um, you were leaving…" Bridge sighed and stuttered, taking a couple steps backward.

"Yea, it's because my shift's over…" Max replied, wondering why Bridge was so nervous around him. Just how intimidating was he?

@bubblegum

"Oh. Okay. Sorry." He looked around, not meeting Max's eye. Hecc you're bad at talking to people in general let alone a pretty person!!

"It's fine." Max replied, looking around awkwardly.

@bubblegum

"No, um…yeah, okay." Bridge coughed, and, panicking, turned to dash out of the cafe.

Max was a bit confused, watching Bridge run away as he sighed and looked around. Just how intimidating or scary was he?

@bubblegum

Bridge started climbing up the fire escape on the backside of the cafe, resting himself on the third floor. He unfolded the paper Max had given him with a little sigh of relief. How was he ever supposed to talk to him - even over the phone? He was terrible talking to people in general - not to mention cute people who were bigger than him - although the second part didn't really count, as most things were bigger than him. He needed to find a pay phone.

Max quickly went back into the Employee's Only room to take off his apron and get his stuff. Once he did, he headed out of the cafe with his phone in his hand.

(Sorry it's short)

@bubblegum

(it's fine) Bridge laid down on the chain flooring, folding up the paper again and slipping it into his pocket. He would find some change and a pay phone tomorrow, and maybe call Max. If he got the courage.

(Gahhhh, I'm sorry again, my parents didn't let me go on my laptop at all these last few days and before that I was busy with finals)

Max checked his phone to see if he had gotten any messages or calls, Surprisingly, he had a text from one of his friends, most of them were too busy to text. He stopped walking and read the message, quickly replying before starting to walk again.

@bubblegum

Bridge looked down as Max walked below him, sitting up quickly so as not to appear homeless if he did look up. Bridge was homeless, of course, but this didn’t matter now.

Max felt his phone buzz twice, meaning someone was calling him, he didn't stop walking and picked up the phone, not really checking the caller ID. "Hello there, beautiful." He heard a deep voice say, making him freeze almost instantly.

@bubblegum

Bridge looked down in surprise as he froze, picking up the phone. Who could it be?

"Who is this?" Max asked.

"Just shut up and start walking to where I tell you, or else Alice will get hurt very badly." The man replied.

Max chuckled, mainly to make himself believe the man didn't have Alice. "What do you mean? Alice, is this a prank?"

@bubblegum

Bridge's eyes widened. The silent alley made it easy to hear most of what was being said on the other line, and he could clearly hear Max. He leaned forward to hear better. Whatever this was, it didn't sound good.

"Just shut the fuck up and get into the god damn car." The man growled.

"What car?" Max asked, looking around. "Oh–never mind–I see it." He didn't hang up and walked over to the car, glancing at the driver before opening the door and getting into the back seat, not noticing the men dressed in black in the trunk. After he had closed the door, the man started the car and the men almost immediately attacked Max, one putting a handkerchief over his mouth and letting him struggle around for a minute or two before he became unconscious, and an other one holding him down the entire time so he couldn't escape or hit any of them.

@bubblegum

Bridge’s eyes widened as he heard sounds of struggle from inside the car, hesitating to go after it, but then deciding it was the best thing to do. Clambering down the fire escape, he swung himself onto the pavement and went after it.

The car started and left in an instant, almost as if the car had never been there in the first place. The men went into the front seat, using duct tape to tape Max's hands together behind his back and duct-taping his feet together. A ball shoved into his mouth which was secured by another piece of tape, then he was thrown in the back with a blanket covering him so they didn't look suspicious or anything if a cop pulled them over. After that, they pulled up the rest of the seats so everyone could sit, making Max a bit less visible from the front.
