Slumping down to the ground, accidentally falling into a bush, making a little yelping sound as she fell.
Laying her head back and sighing, then suddenly she hears men yelling.
"hey! Over there! What was that?"
"i dont know! Maybe the killer!"
"well lets go!!!"
They say as they run over to her. She quickly got up, hiding in the leaves up in the tree.
"well crap"
She whispered to herself as the men looked around.
Reaper heard the commotion, and turned to follow, unseen by any of them. Not Maylynn, not the men. Even the branches and leaves underfoot didn't give him away.

Looking down at everyone, then around kind of regretting telling him to leave. Wait! No! She could get out of this by herself. Right? men surrounded her, about 20 of them, flooding out of the bar.
"up there!!!"
One of the guys pointed towards her, while everyone ran up.
guess ill die now. COME TAKE ME MR REAPER
She thought to herself as she literally just gave up.
Reaper arrived, and sighed softly as he ran past the men to arrive at her first. He picked her up, and wrapped them both in his cloak. It would hide her from their sight, but not for long, and not without a cost. He started back for her house, silent as he moved.

Getting picked up, she had no idea what was happening. Did the guys take her? were they going to kill her?
She accepted it, she was going to die, and she excepted it. Squeezing her eyes shut and latching onto whoever was holding her.
Holding onto it for dear life, she didn't dare open her eyes.
He coughed softly. "Don't squeeze so tightly, keeping us both hidden isn't easy on me." He told her. He wasn't quite running, but he was moving as fast as possible while the confused shouts of the men echoed behind them.

Noticing it was the Reaper, she suddenly felt more comfortable. Not saying anything as ran, her body pressed against him.
He could probably feel her body shaking. She was a little embarrassed, but at least she was alive. And maybe safe.
He glanced down at her. "It's Troy, by the way. My name." He said softly. He kept moving. They were nearly there, and just in time, too.

Her heart started to pound as he runs. Saying his name….. Troy. She liked it.
"where are we going…. Troy?"
She says adding his name in it….. she just had to say it. Which was wierd, but normal to her.
"Back to your house." He replied. "Considering mine is…well. Not really a comfortable place for guests." They soon arrived back at her home, and he set her down.

Her face a little red, probably from the heat.
"Thank you"
She manages to whisper…. Only a quiet, sweet little whisper. Holding back tears, she looked down at her hands in her lap.
He nodded. "You're welcome… what's wrong?" He asked, looking at her carefully. "Are you hurt?"

"n-No"
She said looking down at her trembling hands. A tear fell down on her face. She's been in so many near-death situations, so why was she crying now?
WHY AM I CRYING? STOP IT MAYLYNN
She thought to herself, still shaking. Her knee bouncing up and down.
He crouched, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, Maylynn, what's wrong?" He asked quietly, looking at her worriedly.

Trying to hide her now red eyes. Her hair sticking to the side of her wet cheeks.
"no… I'm not- I mean, nothing wrong."
She said, her anxiety was kicking in, which wasn't very often.
Only when she cried. But that was only in her bed every night.
Not near people. And not about something as stupid as this.
Usually, she was confident that she would escape every single time she was in a near-death experience.
Maybe the fact that she actually thought she was going to die finally got to her.
"n-no"
She curled up into a ball and whispered. Mainly to herself.
Troy took a deep breath and picked her up again, carrying her inside and closing the door. He set her down on her bed, rubbing her back gently.

"I dont- i….."
She couldn't say anything….. why? Leaning forward, putting her head lower.
"thank you"
She whispered, her voice cracked. She was truly thankful.
"i was going to die"
She said through many painful voice cracks, trembling with fear still.
Was she still cut out to be an assassin? After crying over this? Probably not.
He nodded. "No problem." His clothes morphed back into the black hoodie and jeans, the scythe that necklace on his neck again. His hands rested on his knees. His fingertips had turned black, like charcoal, as a result of hiding her as he had. He wasn't supposed to interfere with the deaths of people; just take them to the afterlife when they died.

Wiping the tears away as best as she could, not doing a very good job she sat normally. Her head still facing down.
"Why'd you save me?"
She said with more voice now. Her fingers fidgetting with each other, she had pushed her hair out of her face, but anyone who saw her could definitely tell she was crying.
He hesitated. "I'm…not sure." He replied slowly. "I just…did." he shrugged, curling up his fingers to hide the black marks from her. They would fade, eventually, but until then it would hurt every time he touched someone.

She wanted to hug him…. although she already said thank you, she felt as if that want near enough.
Holding herself back, she looked at her door. Standing up, she went outside.
This took an unexpected turn….
He stayed where he was, letting her be alone. I shouldn't have done that. There are rules, and they're here for a reason…but… He sighed softly, raking a hand through his black hair.

Breaking a whole bunch of sticks in peices, carrying them into the woods.
Fire always calmed her down. She never knew why.
Walking back to her little house, she opened the door.
"you coming?"
She said trying to act like she wasnt just sobbing. Faking and pretty smile.
He stood. "Fine." He replied, and followed her in. He tucked his hands into his pockets, keeping the blackened areas hidden from her.

Arriving at a tiny little clearing in the woods, along with a pile of stick surounded by rocks. She sat down and looked at him.
"Have you ever been to a bonfire?"
She asked him through her smile, which she was trying her best to make it look real.
He raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. Why?" He asked, looking at her curiously. "What's your plan?"

"Oh i was just wondering"
She says as a little flame appears in the heap of sticks.
"Do you like it?"
He nodded, then hesitated. "What do you mean, like it?" He questioned, crouching by the fire with his hands still in his pockets.

"Oh come on! Do you like fire?"
She asked, feeling incredibly awkward. He was a little hard to handle, but she was going to keep on trying.
He frowned slightly. "Sure? I mean…I guess so." He did, but…at the same time, fire held a lot of memories that weren't exactly pleasant. If he pushed those memories away, and forgot them again, then yes, he could enjoy fire. "Do you?"
