hey i have this character that i've just created a future for, so while his character profile says he's 14 this rp will be with him aged up. i'm going to post a template for both me and whoever shows up but have this character profile as well: Invalid Character

General outward personality: Imagine a sad trash man with abandonment issues who is very angry that he has to deal with those issues. Now add several layers of mistrust, an insatiable hunger for vengeance, and enough bitterness to kill a small animal. Sprinkle on some ragged determination, just to keep things interesting. Congratulations! You have Damian's emotional state on any given day.
What does this character do when…
~threatened? He automatically reverts to his fight or flight instincts (of which he will always pick fight) and gets very trigger happy. Many a fight has broken out because he doesn't know how to resolve bad situations.
~scared? See above. He freaks out and gets all punch happy as a defense mechanism.
~happy? Relaxes slightly but still stays guarded. He smiles and it actually reaches his eyes. He gets tactile and wants to hug or brush shoulders or hold hands or whatever he's allowed to do.
~nervous? Lots of nervous looking around and finger tapping. He gets really fidgety and snappy, not exactly fight or flight but very close.
~mad? It depends on who he's with, but he'll probably get very bitter and volatile. Either he'll yell, punch things, insult everyone around him, or do all of the above in that order.

~scared? breathing visibly quickens. and he hugs himself and curls in.

juniper ducked as a towel was thrown his way, smirking at his dad's attempt to get him to shut up.

"you missed, old man."

"fuck off, son. you have a new customer, and you're getting their food. i have shit to do." magik growled, but it didn't have any real fire. he turned the stove up, flipping whatever he was cooking.

"aye aye."

he balanced a cup of coffee on his already full tray, swishing out of the kitchen door into the main area to distribute food and greet the new customer.

"here you go, love. that's 5 when you're ready to pay. and hey!" he turned to damian. "find a seat, i'll be with you in a moment!"

Damian nearly jumped when Juniper directed his attention towards him, hiding the surprise behind a scowl and a weary nod. He picked his way over to the most secluded part of the restaurant, plopped down in a booth at least two tables from anybody else, and quickly pulled a book out of his backpack. He had a couple hours to kill here, may as well make use of them.

juniper watched damian go, and took the time to give out the rest of the food.

when he was done, he went back into the kitchen to grab damian some water.

"new customer is cute. might do some flirty waiter shit and give him my number."

"go off."

"aw, st. magik, you're no fun. see you in a couple minutes," juniper called behind him, walking swiftly over to where damian sat and setting the water in front of him before pulling a pad and pen from his pocket.

"what can i get you, love?"

Did it take a few seconds for Damian to process the fact that a cute boy just called him love? Yes. Was the soft, sly smile he offered the guy worth the few seconds of confusion? Also yes. "That all depends on what's on the menu. Do you think there's anything as sweet as you?"

oh, two can play this game.

juniper raised his eyebrows while keeping an otherwise deadpan face.

"that depends on what you get, hun. menu's on the right side of the table, if you hadn't noticed." he set a hand on the edge of the table, leaning slightly into it and putting a hand on his hip.

Damian watched him lean over with interest, forcibly tearing his gaze away from the waiter to look over the menu. He sighed. Payday wasn't for a week so he didn't have much money, and all the good stuff was too expensive for him to get if he wanted to eat until then. "Looks like I'll be getting a black coffee then, sweetheart." He tried for teasing but it fell a little flat.

((oh i forgot to mention his retaurant has fuckin Affordable prices, so thats cool))

"mhm. that all?" he set his pad of paper on the table to write damian's order down, but was jolted by a shout of

"mora! we have other customers, y'know! quit flirting and take his order!" coming from the kitchen. he sighed, turning to quickly salute towards the kitchen and standing back up straight for damian's response.

Damian blushed and slapped the menu down when someone yelled at his waiter for flirting. A light blush warmed his cheeks and he busied himself by pulling out his book "Yep! That's all!" He offered the waiter a tight smile. "Come back and flirt with me when you have some free time, won't you?"

"you betcha, darling." he tossed a wink over his shoulder as he headed back to the kitchen, getting a gentle smack on the head as he passed magik to pour a cup of coffee.

"your break is in 5."

"thought i didn't have a break, pop."

magik grimaced at him, plating a hamburger and passing it off to juniper. "you know i hate it when you call me that. i'm going to call alex in, you look like you've got things to do. it's not like this is our main source of money. because, son, say it with me:"

juniper sighed, putting a hand on his hip and monotonously reciting "mafia work pays off."

magik offered a small smile, swatting juniper's shoulder to turn him around. "that's right. now, go. the burger's for your newest conquest. a freebie, on you."

Damian buried himself nose deep in his book, quickly getting invested in the story. It was something he'd swiped off his mom's bookshelves right before he left, one of those pulpy old bodice rippers. Completely stupid, but also weirdly entertaining. It almost let him forget how hungry he was.

juniper approached damien's table again, setting down the coffee and food with two quiet thumps.

"here you are. go to the counter when you're ready to pay, love. meet me outside when you're finished." he turned quickly, stopping to mention, "the burger's a freebie, by the way." before exiting the restaurant to wait outside.

Damian smiled gratefully at him as he left, digging into the burger after a few minutes. It was delicious, so much more filling than a coffee would've been, and he decided to hang around here more often. There weren't many places he could safely hang around, but this was quickly becoming one of them.

After about ten minutes of frantically scarfing down food he left to see if Juniper had decided to ditch him or not, taking his still warm coffee with him.

juniper was leaning against the wall, and looked up when damian came out.

"hey, you. how was it?"

Damian smiled, small but genuine, and walked over to lean next to Juniper. "The name's Damian, actually, but you can call me anything you like," he said with a smirk that seemed strangely self-deprecating. Like he hated himself for being so cheesy. "And the burger was delicious. Best thing I've had all week."
