Avrey, a 17 year old who is much too tall, way too quiet, and a little awkward, is suddenly able to see ghosts. It was a long, dramatic story involving his late sister, evil spirits, a rift in spacetime…
anyways, this rp starts a little after Avrey begins noticing his newfound ability. You'll be the ghost, and i'll be the said awkward fellow :)

Avrey rolled out of bed onto his terribly unorganized bedroom floor, a routine that was regular at this point. He groaned sleepily, standing while he begrudgingly forced himself to look in the mirror. His unruly red hair stuck out in odd places, making it seem even less natural against his hazel, freckle-dotted skin. And like always, his eyes were two distracting different colors.
All he wanted was to be unnoticed.
He hadn't gotten any sleep the night before, plagued by sounds and the hallucinations of people he had been having. He hadn't told his mother, hell no. She would be terribly disappointed that there was yet another thing wrong with him.
He would just have to live with it, for now.
Sluggishly, Avrey slipped on a white sweater and his favorite corduroy jacket, glaring at the new stain on one of the sleeves. He would have to worry about it later. As of now, the most important task at hand was making it through the day

Avrey felt himself staring at an old polaroid of him and his sister, pursing his lips to keep from crying, when he heard one of those… voices again. He quickly spun around, looking for the source of he sound, but there was nothing there.
He folded his arms tightly, quickly pulling on his ratty converse before grabbing his bag and slipping out the door. Apparently, the hallucinations were not getting better.
He mumbled a quick goodbye to his mother, grabbing a pair of keys to the house as he left the comforts of his home, left in the terrifying town he had just moved into, deep in the mountains of Washington.
He sighed shakily, then began his long walk to school, praying nothing weird would happen, and he would just stay out of everyone's way.

Avrey kept a tight grip on the straps of his backpack, looking around at the people wandering the streets, wondering who was real, and who… wasn't. He turned around, seeing the nervous Emily, before focusing back ahead. She looked…. real enough. And seemed like one of his classmates, most likely heading to school. It was fine, it was normal.
Once he arrived at the front doors, he took a deep breath, keeping his head down while he ducked inside, avoiding anyone while he started to his homeroom class.

Avrey fiddled anxiously with the buttons of his jacket, taking his seat in the back of the class while he arranged his things. Thankfully, he didn't have to introduce himself to any more classes this time. It was especially embarrassing, especially with his unintelligible nervous stutter. He rubbed his face, biting the inside of his cheek while he tapped his fingers on the desk.
Soon enough, she came in as well. But… she didn't open the door.
Avrey rubbed his eyes, staring blankly at the way she passed through the wall, like it wasn't even there.
Not real… not real not real… Avrey thought while he looked back at his desk. Oh god… this is getting so bad

Avrey covered his face, eyes darting around the room before he grabbed his things again and headed for the door, quickly excusing himself. This… this was too much. It was too terrifying. Something was wrong, and he couldn't keep ignoring it.
He sat in a secluded part of the hall, drawing his knees to his chest while closing his eyes and breathing deeply, trying to wait out the panic attack that had started to set in. What is wrong with me??

Avrey sniffed, folding his arms while he started to relax, then jumped at the sound of Emily's voice.
He quickly stood, clearing his throat while he wiped his eyes and pretended to be looking for something. "I-I… Y-yeah. I-I'm okay." He stammered, quickly glancing up at her before looking back down. "Sorry… I can…" He started, not entirely sure what he was apologizing for

Not too far off, a desperate girl raced, no, flew through the buildings, darting around people while she tried to find him. He would be able to see her, that was certain, with all the postmortal police after her. All she had to do was get to him before some other nosy ghost could. God, She couldn't even imagine his reaction to such a thing.

Avrey relaxed again, a bit nervous by the pity he was receiving, but deciding it was better than being ridiculed. He nodded, smiling gently while he sighed shakily. "Y-Yeah… Th-th-they've been p-pretty hard to keep under check s-since I moved here." He mumbled, pursing her lips before looking up at her eyes. "B-but I'll be okay."
Even though she looked normal enough, it was unmistakable that she… wasn't really there. He rubbed his eyes, observing her closer while he continued attempting to calm himself.

Alexandria was close, she could feel it. Her brother was close, but so was… someone else. She groaned at the thought of having to deal with two people now.

Avrey swallowed hard, looking around and realizing he was talking to nothing. That if someone were to talk in, he would look like he was crazy, and they would tell their friends, and then word would spread that he talked to himself and there would be no hope and he would have to hide for the rest of his life and-
he stopped, pursing his lips while he looked up at her. She seemed so… real though. And if he didn't say anything, then that would be rude. He cleared his throat, looking back down at the ground while he studied the awful tile that decorated the halls.
"L-los Angeles." He muttered, nodding to himself. "I-I-It's pretty different."

Alex easily passed through the walls of the school, shuddering at the odd feeling that always came with that sort of interaction. She heard the unmistakable stutter, and followed it, peeking around the corner to see him… talking to one of them??

Avrey bit his lip, knowing the answer but not wanting to say it.
Though, at the aversion of her attention, he followed Emily's gaze to… someone who looked much too familiar.

"Aves!!" Alex called, still hovering a good distance in the air while she propeled herself to him, her eyes tearing. "I… I never thought…"

Avrey stepped back, looking between the two of them while he crossed his arms tightly. "Wh-wh-what the hell…"

Avrey was hyperventilating at this point, while Alex rolled her eyes, reaching her arms out in a false attempt to steady him.
"It's me. I know you're thinking about… joining me… but you can't Aves. You need to stay. It wasn't your fault, and you-"

She was suddenly cut off my burly looking ghosts holding her back, dragging her towards some sort of swirly door while Avrey simply stared in shock

"Please!! Please keep him safe!! Take care of my brother!!" She called towards Emily, disappearing into nothingness as they were once again left alone.

"I-I-I'm insane!!" Avrey cried, holding his head

Avrey took deep breaths, staring into her eyes while he slowly began to relax once more. He complied, closing his eyes while he took deep, prolonged breaths, his silent sobs beginning to slow.
"Wh-who… who are you?" He rasped, looking back at her with fearful eyes. "My sister is dead. Why did I just see her?? What is going on!?"

Avrey backed against a wall, covering his face while still staring at Emily. "O-oh…. god…" He mumbled, the information unable to settle while his panic increased. "Wh-what do you want!"
