you can't buy our love (2/2, far future dystopia, closed!)

It's the far future, and our characters live in a hyper-capitalized society that they don't know any better for. When a member of the workforce dies, their brain is reuploaded into a clone of themself, and they have to pay to get their memories back. Our characters are in a loving polyamorous relationship, but one of them dies in a workplace accident and they don't have enough to pay for their memories, even between the three of them. This rocks their world, and now they have to keep their relationship from falling completely apart while earning enough money to get their lover's memories back via work on a mining colony.

Rules/Guidelines:
This is gonna have some dark shit in it, so TW for heavy themes, especially of death and depression.
Gore and swearing are fine, but slurs and otherwise offensive language are not.
This will get angsty and if you have any specific triggers that might come up in this I'd recommend finding another RP.

NSFW is fine, but it won't be a big focus and might not happen at all. If it does, we take it to the PMs. If anyone is uncomfortable with smutty content, however, we can either avoid it or timeskip.

Appearance: Damien is 5'8", stocky and well built and passes as his gender quite well despite not being able to afford surgery. All the work on the mining station has built his form well. Pale to begin with, Damien has ivory rose skin bleached from the little imitation-sunlight on the station. His hair is dark brown, soft and curly, cut close to his head. He has pale grey eyes, a thick brow, and multiple scars from work on the mining colony
Personality: Very practically-minded, but sentimental and insists on keeping relics from when his fathers were still alive in their home. So far all he has is a music player and several music chips (kinda like CDs, but of the future) that he'll protect with his life. He's not very romantic, but does care very deeply for his partners and friends, and hopes to someday move away from the mining colony onto a better planet and marry his lovers.
Strengths: His quick thinking and goal-oriented mindset.
Weaknesses: Once he has an idea, he'll stick with it until he has absolute PROOF it won't work.
Backstory: Damien has very few memories of his early life, but that doesn't bother him. His fathers went missing around when he was 15 and started working on the mining colony and he assumes they're dead.

"Our of my way!" he roared, kicking the security drones away and opening the pod where the newly finished clone body lay, peacefully. About to activate. It's just, when you got decapitated I freaked out and all…" he rubbed the area where his consciousness chip had been placed, deep underneath skin. It still itched to this day, but he hadn't died yet.
