Brie opened her mouth to speak but closed it again, about to sit back down. She had one chance to get to know someone, and she blew it. She did. With her stupid power. Why was it ever brought up in the first place? Why did she- It didn't matter, whatever she did… she had to make it right.

Impulsively, she stepped closer to him. "Hey, are you sure you're okay? I mean the attack was pretty strong. I wouldn't want you to deal with any side effects over it." Brie quickly placed her right palm over his forehead then the back of her left hand on his cheek, then pulled them away, erasing any small trace of pain she had pierced through him, "Yeah, s- sorry about that, I just needed to make sure something doesn't go wrong out of nowhere…"

Brie backed away from him, "Well, see you-" She glanced down at her hands. The dark spot, it was… glistening, shimmering many different bright shades and tints. Brie stared up at Lucky, "Wait…"

Lucky wasn't looking at her when she stepped closer, and suddenly she was speaking. He turned to her, without really meaning to, and was struck again by how pretty she was. It bothered him now, though his anger was quickly cooling, turning more to frustration with himself mixed in with some shame.
She touched him, and Lucky froze momentarily, before he pulled back. He wasn't really a fan of people touching his face. "Thanks." Despite his mixed feelings, he was still going to leave. This had gone very wrong, and he was still a bit mad at her, even in the midst of everything else. He pulled himself up into the saddle in an easy, practiced move, and turned Sinjoro towards home.
He heard Brie say something, but it was quiet, and he needed to get out of there before things got weird again. "See you around." He slapped the reins gently, and Sinjoro took off towards home.

It wasn't until he got out of town and let Sinjoro run a little faster that he felt his face tingle in the wind. That was different. A thought crossed his mind, one that was horrifying after the conversation they'd just had, and by the time he got home, Lucky was very worried.
He hurried into the house, ignoring Tante Sofia's worried greeting, and took the stairs two at a time as he hurried up to his bathroom.
A few seconds of scrubbing later, and his concerns were confirmed. His face, specifically his left cheek, was a tingly rainbow mess of colors

Brie's touch had activated his soulmark.
