(okay I'm not gonna respond yet, to give MJ a chance, but I was thinking last night, and Poof, if it's okay with you, I was thinking, what if MJ makes a second character who can be the band's agent? If they want to, of course)
"You're dead, shut up and don't make me blow this audition!" {CLOSED}
((Sounds good to me!))
group
(ooo yeah I'm chill with that! I could use one of the friends that I was originally planning on using for the agent/manager!)

Mei looked at the newcomer from where she was sitting on top of the large speaker. She was tucked away in the corner from her two bandmates and whoever the newest auditioner was. The previous ones didn't go too well, and frankly, Mei was getting tired of constantly searching for a new guitarist. Their last one… Well, that wasn't really a topic Mei cared to bring up.
She nodded towards the newcomer, a small greeting, and then went back to softly playing scales on her beloved bass.
(great! Also MJ we gotta figure out why the guitarist left. I was thinking maybe Izu accidentally sent them to Jigoku and possessed their body, then brought them back and they left bc of that. Or if you have a better idea we can do that too!)
Izu's gaze flicked up at the sight of Eric. As far as the Oni knew, he was the only one in the group who could see ghosts or spirits, and so he merely inclined his head, standing and coming over to join Callum. "Hello. This is Callum, he likes to bang." He said, mouth twisting in a smirk as he clapped a hand on Callum's shoulder.
Callum rolled his eyes. "Oi, Arai, don't scare her." To Coraline, he said, "I'm the drummer, is what Izu means. He's our lead singer, by the way, and the silent one over there is our bassist, Mei. And what's your name?"
"Coraline." Coraline said, fidgeting slightly. "Most people just call me Cory, though.
Eric flipped upside down. "Oh, what a surprise, I also like to bang!" He said, grinning.
Coraline took a deep breath. Eric was testing her very hard today.
Izu glanced at Eric, then back at Coraline. "Well, if you're here for the auditions, do you mind filling out this form?" He grabbed it from a table, handing it to her. "There are pens over there. Apologies if you're a little overwhelmed; we're on lunch break, since we finished all the auditions from this morning, so there's nothing else to do. Our agent went to get us lunch."
(Also uh MJ sorry for puppetting the agent/manager? If it's a problem that they're getting lunch I can cut that part out, I just wanted to give a reasonable explanation)
group
(oh no, you're just fine! I was gonna have the agent come in a few posts anyways)
Mei paused her soft playing for a moment, looking the newcomer up and done. Cory, yeah that was it. She looked… off to say the least. Yeah, sure, all of the kids coming into audition looked nervous, but she looked downright irritated.
"Yari'll be here soon," Mei offered as she hopped down from the speaker. "And kid, can you play a lydian scale for me real quick? Start at a C and work up to an F."
She nodded slightly, slipping the strap of her guitar around her and starting to play the scale.
Eric moved so it looked as if he was sitting cross-legged in the air. "Ooooh, that's what the scale is called? Also, I think the lead singer just looked at me. Felt you should know that."
Coraline fought the urge to roll her eyes, instead opting to close them and take a deep breath as she hit the F.
"Mei, let her fill out the form." Izu said, still holding the form out. "We've got to do this the right way." He sighed faintly.
Callum sat down on one of the chairs, watching her quietly.
Coraline mumbled an apology, taking the form and going to grab a pen to fill it out.
Eric grinned. "Oooooo, you're in trouble~" He sang, teasingly.
group
"Just seeing how her instrument sounds, remember that one kid with the squeaky g-string." She laughed at that. "Yeah, my ears are still recovering." And with that, Mei sat down on a different speaker, just as large as the first one and began tuning her E string, dropping it down to a D. She hit the note once, letting the low sound reverberate through the small, soundproof room.
"I remember." Izu replied. "But she'll play after she's filled out the form, you know. We just need the form for legal reasons." the yokai looked over at Coraline, thoughtful. Why was a ghost following her around?
Coraline started filling out the form, Eric hovering over her shoulder.
"Oh, you're an Aries?" He asked, humming.
She bit her lip harshly, shaking her head slightly to try and tell him to shut up.
((Bump?))
(I was waiting for MJ to respond, should I just reply?)
group
(a;sdkjf sorry-)
Mei watched with calculating eyes as the newbie filled the forms out. "So, kid," She asked in her usual cool, low tone. "How long you been playing? Any prior experience with a professional group?" She checked her smart watch when it buzzed, a text from Yari coming in. "And Yari'll be here in ten, so I'd like to wrap this up before our food gets here if that's chill."
(you're fine!)
"Mei, be nice." Callum said, shifting to sit down at his drumset and pulling out his phone. The tall kelpie wore a tank top and a pair of dark jeans, his red hair flopping into his face. "You know our group has…specific needs." That was why they'd been auditioning for days now, because no one had quite fit the group get.
group
(oh and I added Yari's character sheet with Mei's on page 2!!)
(I love them!)
"I started playing around the tail end of middle school- somewhere around seventh and eighth grade, I think?" She said, trying to finish filling out the form. "And, unfortunately, no, I haven't done anything professionally. Not a lot of people played anything back home, and the few who did didn't like each other."
Eric hummed. "But didn't you say you dated one for a bit?"
Coraline finished the form, handing it to Izu. Why does he have horns, and why are they translucent? Whatever, probably not my place to say anything.
((They sound so cool!!!))
Izu hummed faintly as he looked over the form, their head cocking faintly. "Hm. Yari will run your information for a background check, just so you know. Standard procedure." Callum had a criminal history. He'd been in prison for six months for assault with intent to kill, though the sentence was so short because he was a kelpie and hadn't been in control of his actions at the time. That fact, of his history, they'd kept sealed up tight. No one outside the band and Yari knew.

(a;sdlkfja thanks!)
"How old are you?" Mei raised an eyebrow and tilted her head, staring down the newbie. "You look like you just got out of sophomore year." A sly smile spread across her face, anyone who knew her well would know she was teasing, but she was doubtful the kid would pick up on it. Mei then turned her attention to Cal and Izu. "And is she… y'know, someone we're looking for?"
Cal looked up, shrugging a shoulder. "I dinnae know. Izu?"
Izu glanced at Eric, then at Cory, thinking. "Let's see how she plays, before we make any decisions."
"I'm eighteen." Coraline said, biting her lip. She mentally cursed her babyface, trying to stand a little straighter in an attempt to look taller.
Eric laughed. "Awww, little Cory!" He said, grinning.
Coraline gave him a side-eye, which to anyone else probably just looked like she was suspicious of the wall.
Izu caught the motion, eyes narrowing faintly. Could she see Eric? If she could…then perhaps she would fit in with their group after all.
Coraline messed with her guitar a little. "Do you want me too…?"
"Just play!" Eric said ernestly. "C'mon, you only spent all night practicing!"
"Right, of course. Have you listened to any of our music before? On YouTube, Spotify, whatnot?" Izu asked.
Coraline nodded. "Yep."
"Only stayed up for three nights listening to everything and keeping me up-"
Coraline tightened her grip on her guitar, fighting the urge to tell Eric to shut up and remind him he didn't actually need to sleep.
