Rose awoke in her bed to loud noises coming from downstairs. There were a few thumps, and then a crash, then everything went silent. God damn it, she thought, wrestling the blanket off of her and leaving her bedroom. She was used to her dad going out and doing villain stuff, but he wasn't usually this loud when he got home. Something was definitely different. She manuevered around the dark house and reached the kitchen where the clock on the stove read 5:26 AM. Eh, I guess I'll stay up. It's late enough I guess. She jumped slightly at a loud noise coming from the basement, almost like a shout. As she approached the basement, her father exited it. "What are you doing awake?" he questioned. "Couldn't sleep. You're making a whole bunch of noise down there, you know. What are you doing?" She resisted the urge to smile as she remembered her father didn't know that she knew about his secret "job" of being a villain. "Just getting some work done, honey. Now, I've got to get to sleep. I'll see you in the morning." He looked his daughter in the eye. "Don't go in the basement, alright?" Rose nodded and he left. As soon as he was gone she went it the basement. She had been there multiple times already so it was no big deal when she saw all of her father's prized weapon collection. And thousands of dollars in stolen money. And prisoner cells-wait. Something moved in one of them. "Hello?" Rose called out as she approached.
