oof- i thought this'd be a cool thing,,,, i wanted to try this out so yeah- there might be a bit of romance involved in this, but that depends on how it goes i guess,,,

plot:
basically, someone (the character belonging to whoever joins) stumbles upon my character, a supposed female who looks kinda young. they look pretty beat up. upon further inspection, it becomes clear that they aren't human… they're some sort of doll… or at least, something of the sort.

rules:

  • don't be mean ooc!! pls!!
  • swearing is a-okay here!! gore/violence may also be a common occurrence here, too!!
  • just follow andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s rules i guess :p

personality: Outgoing and friendly, Alyssa has a smiling face for almost everyone she faces. Getting her in a bad mood doesn't happen very often, and usually when she is in one, she's more sad than angry. When she's confused or weirded out, her faces goes extremely blank minus her eyes. Those go quite wide and seem like they're judging you. She doesn't know how to handle the sadness of others, so when she tries, her face often looks panicked.

It was a day like any other. The city was bustling, and nothing was out of the ordinary. But… Something is off. A groaning noise ran throughout an empty alleyway. Nobody in the vicinity seemed to notice; either that, or they just didn't care. Eventually, the groaning stopped. It was followed by a hollow thud, like an object dropping onto the ground. Now everything was silent, in regards to the alleyway that had been previously filled with groaning. The hollow thud sounded once more, then silence began to fill the area once again. Pure silence… Everything is fine now. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the alleyway, and it held onto the edge of the alley's entrance.

Alyssa sprinted down sidewalks, her cinnamon hair whipping in the wind. Already she was late for the next photo-shoot she was due to take for someone. And not just a measly 5-10 minutes late. No, she was 30 minutes late. She began pondering getting a new car, because if it wasn't indicative by the fact that she was running, that old clunker was not doing her much good.

She turned a corner, and her feet slapped against the concrete at a slightly slower pace with fatigue. Out of the edge of her vision, she saw a figure. Clambering out of the alley, the person was. They looked just as tired as Alyssa felt. Alyssa shifted momentum drastically to come to a stop, her legs and arms flailing slightly at the apparent imbalance. She swept her now messy hairs from her forehead, hoping they at least looked decent, and peered down into the eyes of the other.

"Hey, are you okay?" She had to resist her instinct to place a hand on the other's shoulder the way she would with close friends. This person was a stranger and likely wouldn't take to it well. She kept fair bit of space away from her new acquaintance as she anticipated an answer.

The figure backed up a little, almost tripping on a rock. Upon gaining a closer look at the figure, it looked like a female, but there wasn't really anything that would help define their gender in terms of physical appearance. They backed up, clearly nervous. They weren't good at hiding their emotions. "I… I'm okay…" They said in a gentle manner, hoping to make the stranger less worried than they already seem to be. Suddenly, the person fell backward, releasing another thud; a noise that wasn't human-like… and it didn't come from their mouth. It rang through the alley right after their body made impact with the ground… And it didn't seem natural. They got up and wiped some blood of of their nose, then held their legs steady. The person was rather short, yet they had the appearance of a common teenager. Except for the non-human parts. After getting up, it was clear that this person's face had cracked. Literally.

Upon seeing the crack across the other's face, Alyssa's fern-green eyes widened, and her mouth formed an unmoving line. She tried to convince herself on every possible idea. This was a prank, a dream, she was in some kind of VR headset that she had forgotten to take off. She tried every possible scenario, but none of them seemed right. The crack looked too real, the noise sounded too real.

Without her rational side having a chance to advise against it, Alyssa reached her arm up slightly and touched the crack on the person's face. It felt real. It had to be a mask. A mask for sure. Her arm fell back to her side. She snapped herself out of her judgmental, peering gaze and returned to a smile. "You sure you're alright?" she asked, her smile looking slightly pitying. "That fall looked kinda painful."

Alyssa took a quick glance down at her wristwatch and her heart skipped a beat. 35 minutes late now.

The person had already pulled out a tube of glue and was working to glue the crack shut before the stranger's hand could reach said crack. "Yeah, it's fine. Just… just a little scratch," they replied, whilst gluing the crack on their face shut. They sighed, and started fanning the wet glue with their hand, hoping to dry it faster. "No need to worry. You seem like you need to be somewhere… You should go," they added, smiling. Their smile was reminiscent to the smiles plastered on the porcelain dolls you'd find in a thrift store window. Their bright yellow eyes blinked, and they messed with their hair a little bit, waiting for the stranger to walk off so they didn't have to worry about hiding the fact that they're a doll. They just kept… staring. Waiting silently. They seemed to be used to this sort of thing. Falling, and then acting like nothing happened.

Alyssa's face straightened out once at the reply of the other. The person was completely right, she did have to be somewhere. But something about the other person pointing it out was…off-putting. She nodded slowly, more than obviously bewildered by the event before her. Before she walked off, something in her mind told her to ask just one request, then she could continue her race to the photo-shoot.

"May I," she began slowly, "ask for your name? Mine's Alyssa." She finished speaking with a friendly smile and a wink as she gave everyone. It was a weird natural reflex of hers, to give a smile and a wink after nearly everything. Sometimes even a peace sign or some other hand movement too.

Their face went blank for a second as they wiped more blood off of their nose. "It's Dollie," they replied. "But you can call me Doll or Ghostie, if you so desire." And there was that smile again. That doll-like smile. Dollie messed with their hair a little more, and then they turned around. "You should head off now… Don't wanna keep anyone waiting, do we?" Now their tone was more… overtly calm. Like, unnaturally soft. They began to walk off, each step followed by an empty thud and a soft yet audible slosh. Once they reached the end of the alley, they sat down. Suddenly, a light showed up at the end of the alley where Dollie had stopped. A fire. They were either on fire, or they could've been camping in this alley.
