Wellll it basically birthed modern sci-fi, changed world building forever, and was the main inspiration for Star Wars. In fact, Star Wars is just a rip of off Dune. I'm reading it right now for my Lit&Film class, it's epic. There's been a lot of crappy movies and reboots and TV shows, but they all suck. The new movie is coming out later this year, I think, and the teasers look good.
Still not a fan of book to movie adaptations, but I'm hoping this one won't let me down.

Bruuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Why have I never heard of this?

Dune? I've watched a bit of the movie. I was cut off for some reason and never got to see the rest of it. It's on my list though. I've heard a little about the new one– with Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet? From what I've seen, it looks promising.

Yee2 My sentiments exactly

@berlioz

Recently watched Driving Miss Daisy. It was sweet, funny, and had multiple powerful scenes. However, it didn't really have a discernable plot line (rising action, climax, resolution, etc.) from what I could discern. Still, I liked it, except the ending. Has anyone else scene it?

Nah. Unfortunately I surprisingly don't watch a lot of movies.

Has anyone seen Silence with andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) Garfield?

@berlioz

Hmm no, maybe I'll see if my streaming services have it

It's R I'm pretty sure, btw. But I liked it because of how good it was. Though if you really question one shot then tell me 'cause I did. I feel like it didn't do a good job of showing Christianity and the impact it has on thinking about death and being killed but that's the one thing.

@berlioz

Do you guys have any favorite musicals or plays? I don't know of many, but a lot of film nerds tend to like a few.

Les Miz!

Though the book was better.

And Dear Evan Hansen is also pretty great. Though the script is meh.

@berlioz

Have yet to see Le Miz, but I've heard a lot of praise over Dear Evan Hansen.

Dear Evan Hansen is great! I saw it a little while back. While I felt the story itself could use a bit more work, the songs are powerful!

Les Miz is amazing. And the 2012 movie is pretty great.

Big agree. Aspiring film nerd?

Nope! I've just always had a love for musicals and music in general. I used to want to be on stage but I don't think I could ever sing well enough to be cast for anything, not to mention my general anxiety of being in front of large groups of people.

@berlioz

Do you take any musical theater classes? They help with all those things

group
@Kie group

Nope. My school might offer them but I believe in taking the classes you're also made to participate in getting on stage and I'd legitimately cry.

@berlioz

It's one thing to do something from your seat, it's another to go up in front of the class.
