v(I just wanna say I want to learn but hw and stress so I can't, for now)

@SaltyLasagna

Well, it's good that you want to learn ^.^ I understand being under too much stress, though. I haven't practiced my uke in a week because I haven't had the time.

Uke or guitar?

Either one or both, idk

@SaltyLasagna

Both are pretty fun. I hate to say this but ukulele is easier, so if you like the uke, I'd start with that

I probably would

@_sleeby_rat_

slides in nyello, I play guitar

@SaltyLasagna

ayyyyy
I'm starting to learn guitar and some chords are absolute hell to attempt but I also love it

@_sleeby_rat_

yeah chords are the Fucking Worst on guitar so I alter like everything to make it easier lol

@SaltyLasagna

lol I thought ukulele chords were bad
I was so, so wrong
it's really satisfying when I play one right though, so it's worth it to me

@SaltyLasagna

oh one thing I hate though is when my joints lock up when trying to switch chords

@lemondad

I play both, they're so much fun.

ukulele right here! i hate the a flat minor chord with all of my heart

@SaltyLasagna

oh god yeah that one's the worst

@lemondad

E major sucked at first, but I finally got the hang of it.

yeah

@_sleeby_rat_

oof I still need to get back into the hang of chords properly, I used to be able to do 50 chord changes a minute on my guitar but I got too busy and couldn't play it for like months rip

@SaltyLasagna

What was the thing you used to practice chord changes btw?

@_sleeby_rat_

oh I just set a timer for a minute and tried to change between two chords as fast as I could. it works really well if you sit and do it for like 5-10 minutes before one sitting

@SaltyLasagna

Lol I wouldn't be able to do that for 10 whole minutes with the same two chords, I'd probably start switching between like 15 different chords bc I'd get bored

@_sleeby_rat_

yeah usually what I do is I pick a song and then take like five minutes practicing switching between that song's chords before trying to play it, and sometimes if I'm not fast enough I'll do it again. honestly I've always had to do it two or three times in one sitting, especially with trying to do the intro to my smile is extinct (the original version), or 505

@SaltyLasagna

Yeah I couldn't do that lol
I've been having trouble practicing actually, because I can't seem to focus on one thing for more than 30 seconds. There's so much I want to learn and it's super difficult for me to settle on one, and I don't have any instructor who can tell me what exactly to practice, and I don't have any books or full access to the internet so I'm just trying to pull tips and tricks I learned from youtube videos and practice those. But I'm not even sure I'm remembering them right.
On the bright side, google offers a preview of a ukulele practice book, and it teaches how to read a little bit of sheet music so I'm going to study the whole 12 pages it offers until I have it all mastered

@_sleeby_rat_

oh dang dude

@SaltyLasagna

sorry I talk to much about this stuff

@_sleeby_rat_

nah dude it's good lmao, I don't blame u

on another note I've discovered playing my bulky ass acoustic in a recliner just does not work, I turned to flip the page of my book and smacked myself in the face with the neck lmao

@SaltyLasagna
