Plot Help!!!

I started my story, but it's kinda stuck. I know that everyone will be asking for details, so I'm just going to say them now.

Ty and Kev are two young teens that are considered "Maces", which are people with magical abilities. They are shunned from society and are similar to homeless people. They're there, but no one really ever talks to them.

When they are grabbing breakfast one day, Ty (A girl) is taken by her mother, who is the leader of their world, to be experimented on. Kev starts to look for her, and finds another Mace. They team up and just woke up after a long day of walking. Now I'm stuck! I really want there to be something important happening soon, and it can't be Ty walking out of the woods. That won't work. Otherwise, any ideas?

PS: I won't be able to post anymore on this thread tonight, so don't really be expecting a reply today. But please! Any ideas are welcome!

Since you didn't specify what the magical powers are, may I assume you don't have a solid idea for them yet? Since these Maces are shunned by society, there must be some kind of negativity or stigma that people have towards magic in this 'verse–magic is pretty awesome unless there's a good reason for it to not be. Let's say that the magic is something unsettling that creeps out people who aren't used to seeing it. Something like being able to remove one's body parts and maintain control of them over long distances. This Mace that Kev meets in the woods is a grimy old hermit who has spent years in isolation refining just one application of the Mace power: ejecting his eyeballs high into the air to see far away. When Kev tells this Mace that he's searching for his friend, he agrees to teach him this trick… for a price.

That sounds really interesting! I was thinking about maybe the Mace he meets looking like an innocent child, but really having some sort of power or be a Mace hunter?

One that can shapeshift and gets people's trust?
