So I need some conflicts for my plots.

So basically I am doing a massive fairytale crossover and I am planning to have shattered pieces of an amulet in each of six realms. Neverland, Wonderland, Earth, Camelot, Oz, and Fairytale land which I still need to come up with a name for. They need to find these pieces in order to defeat an evil man who wants to start war and destroy these realms. So for each shattered pieces of the amulet, they are going to be guarded by a challenge or conflict for each realm. So give me challenges and conflicts people.

Bonus points if you can help me figure out the powers for each of the shatteres pieces. Powers have to reflect on the realm.

what should the challenges be?

I feel like the best kind of conflict is one that corresponds to your characters…the kind of conflict you choose should propel your characters along their arc.
For example, my character is far too trusting, so one of the big conflict points is that someone betrays her.
Tell me a little bit about your characters!

Your rebellious, uncaring characters should meet a challenge where they have to rely completely on someone else, ya feel?

Lets see we have

• A Badass
• A nerd
• A responsible person who is also flirty
• Tech girl
• Nature girl
• The magician

Niiiiiice,,we have six characters and six pieces of the amulet. That way we can lowkey craft the challenges around the characters

CLASSIC CHALLENGES INCLUDE:

• scary monster guardian
• curses/spells revolving around sacrifices (ex. the cave from the sixth harry potter)
• a dangerous maze
• a riddle/puzzle
• u mmm mm ima hit up google real quick

What if we do something unique like they're faced with a physical challenge, but its actually mental?

Yeah! Mental challenges are super cool for character development

I think I need to understand your characters better for a mental challenge to be useful…I'm trying to think of good examples of "mental challenges" i've seen before. It's basically like internal and external conflict, so the internal conflict of the situation should directly target a weakness in a character.
As for the set up of the challenge, it could be anything from a witch who casts a spell on someone (im thinking oz here) or just a place that feeds on/tricks the mind (wonderland?)

Well for the characters, their powers reflect on that realm. For ex. Caliburn would be wielding Excalibur and have wizard powers.

Well, I only have three done and they're not developed well.

I think you should focus on character development first and foremost!! That's not to say that plot conflict isn't important…in fact…its very important. It just centers so much around character arc and development that you have to know your characters to make a plot that's moving.

i see that nobody has thought of any powers for the shattered pieces, so here are some suggestions
Never land - you can fly if you have it on you(in hands, pocket, bag that your holding maybe)
Wonderland - let's you manipulate the size of anything(make it as big or as small as you want)
Earth - gives you very vague clues when you have no idea how to finish something
Camelot - summons a weapon whenever in need
Oz - teleports you through each world to a certain place(a checkpoint if you will)
Fairytale land - i don't know much about this realm, but if it's just the rest of the fairytale characters maybe you could gain a trait from a character to use to your advantage(Snow whites beauty when trying to pursuade someone to do something for you Rapunzel's magic hair to help get someone up or down somewhere or to heal someone, etc)
