Ender slid in next to her and shut the door. "You sure? You look kinda pale…"

“Don’t kiss her, you may get the virus, if there is one,” Jane suggested.

Venus pouted. "I need a magic kiss!"

“How about a magic hug?” Jane said gently.

"Nooo, Ender's kisses are magic," Venus sighed, crossing her arms.

Ender blushed. "Sorry Venus. You don't want me to get sick and possibly die…..right?"

“Right.” Jane said firmly. “Just wait a few minutes.”

Venus sighed heavily. Then she began to sniff. "I don't want you to die. DON'T DIE!" she yelled, grabbing Ender's hand.

"I'm not gonna die!" He reassured. "Calm down."

“What he said,” Jane muttered.

Venus watched a raindrop trickle down the window. She traced its path with her finger. "Don't die little raindrop," she whispered.

"Hurry up Jane, she's really lost it."

“Yeap, noticed.” Jane said, pulling into the hospital parking lot.

"The raindrop is dying! I have to save it!" Venus yelled, putting the window down.

"Alright Venus. We're here.. I'm going to carry you again."

“No no no no no!” Jane said, overriding the window from the front seat. “We are going inside now.”

"Ender loves me," Venus whispered to the raindrop. "Did you know that? I'm the luckiest girl ever."

“Yes, you are lucky. You won’t die alone. Now hurry up.”

Ender blushed. "Come on Venus. You're delusional."

"I'm gonna die?!" Venus screamed, curling close to Ender. "Oh, you're warm," she said, pressing her face into his chest.

“No, no, no, thats not what I meant,” Jane sighed. “Come on.”

Ender sighed. "You're not dying while I'm around now come on!" He scooped her up.

Venus pressed her forehead into his shoulder. "You're warm. Why are my toes so cold?"

“Because,” Jane said.

Jane walked up to the receptionist’s desk in the ER. “Hi. My friend here-“ she gestured to Venus “-is burning up with fever and is very delirious. Where should she go?”

"Whyyyyyyy…" Venus's eyes flickered closed.

“See?” Jane said, exasperated.

The receptionist stood up and examined Venus. "This way. Jilly, take over!" she yelled to the other receptionist before leading Ender and Jane down a hallway.
