Venus buckled her seatbelt and stared out the window. She felt bad about yelling at Ender, and for making Blaine upset.
Jane and Nessa walked to Jane’s car, chatting amicably. “So,” Jane said, once they were safely inside and buckled. “On a scale of one to ten, how much do you ship Vender?”

Blaine looked in the rearview mirror, seeing Ender blushing and Venus trying to subtly fight off a smile. She shook her head, laughing internally.
He's just so clueless, it's painful! she thought as she started driving towards the store.

Venus pulled her phone out of her backpack and opened Jane's contact. She paused, then clicked back and scrolled until she reached Nessa's. "Jane's driving," she thought aloud, "I'm going to text Nessa."
You: We're heading to Michael's. Tell Jane that so she won't get lost like last time. XD
Venus put her phone away after that and tried not to focus on Ender's knee brushing hers too much. It's really crammed back here! she thought, but subtly inched a little closer, hoping that Ender didn't notice.
Jane heard a phone buzz. “Hey, Nessa, I think that’s yours,” she said.
