Lily whined and wiggled in Cameron’s grasp. The puppy was hungry and tired. She wanted to go find Lilac and sleep with the older dog.

Cameron watched Lily pull away with a tiny frown. He knew he wouldn’t do anything, therefore that consequence was being cold.

"If I come back here and you haven't showered, then I'm not getting you that pie for breakfast. Or lunch. Or dinner. Or even dessert," Lilah said as she started toward the door.

Cameron frowned a little more. He really wanted that pie. Maybe he’d just sneak down into the kitchens and nab one.
