"Well, I don't know. If you get permission from your parents, you could come home with me tomorrow." Cameron's grin flickered. "Unless that's creepy, which it kinda is."

"Just a bit," Lilah laughed a little. "Maybe early next week?"
"Yeah, that sounds good. Monday at noon?" Cameron asked brightly.

"It's a date! Or, uh, a plan. It's a plan," Lilah quickly corrected herself.
Cameron quickly turned red and glanced away. "Yes, a plan."
Big bummer, man, William's voice crooned.

Lilah's cheeks burned.
You just had to go and make it awkward…
"I'll, um, talk to my parents about it," she mumbled, beginning to pack away the food.
(My friend was looking over my shoulder and she just said, "Big Oof" and I can't stop laughing xD)
Cameron nodded. "Of course. Would you like my phone number?" He started to help her put stuff away.

"Uh, sure, yeah. That might be important," Lilah chuckled. "I could give you mine, too."
Cameron tugged his phone out of his pocket. It was an old Apple 8 with a baby blue case.
"Ready?" He asked, holding up his phone.

"That thing still works?" Lilah questioned, staring at it. "That's ancient! It should be in a museum!" She pulled out her own phone, the Apple C (aka, 100). "This thing is so cool."
Cameron snorted. "Shut up, Lilah. It works fine. I prefer the smaller screen. Anyway, ready?"

"It's barely smaller," Lilah argued, holding her phone next to his. "See?"

Cameron rolled his eyes. "Just gimme your number, ya nut."

Lilah sighed. "Okay, how about we trade phones and put each other's numbers in?"
Cameron nodded and handed her his phone. He stretched his hand out expectantly for hers.

Lilah took his phone and set her's in his hand, their fingers brushing against each other barely noticeably. She blushed lightly, then turned her focus on typing her number in.
Cameron, once again, was oblivious to it and started typing in his number. Once finished, he handed back her phone.
"There you go." He beamed at her. "Hey, it was really nice to get to know you."

Lilah set her picture as a silly selfie, then handed Cameron his phone back. She took her's and smiled at him.
"It was nice getting to know you, too. I hope we can do this again sometime."
Cameron met her eyes as he distractedly put his phone on the blanket rather than his pocket.
"Yeah, I hope so too, Lilah."
Should I hug her? What now?

Lilah blushed a little and looked down. She finished cleaning up the picnic things, except for the blanket, and chewed on her lower lip.
Cameron glanced away too, to grab his phone. He fiddled with the skin on his fingers, feeling distantly nervous.
What… what happened? He couldn't help the confused question.

Lilah looked back up, fighting off her blush and the awkwardness she felt. She stood and poked Cameron in the side with her foot to get him to move, giggling a bit as she did so.
Cameron shook the confusion off of his face and grinned up at her. "Right, right." He stood hastily, almost tripping over himself.

"Careful," Lilah giggled, gently pulling the blanket out from under him. She held it up to fold it, then stuck it in the basket.
Cameron rubbed the back of his neck with a grin. "Sorry. I'm… kinda clumsy… when…" He cleared his throat.

Lilah looked up at him. "When…? When what?" she asked, standing and lifting the basket.
Cameron rolled his shoulders back. "When I'm nervous sometimes I trip over myself." He shrugged.

"You're nervous?" Lilah asked, starting back toward the castle.
Cameron laughed. "Not nervous just… I dunno." He shrugged and started walking after her.

"Oh. Okay." They walked in silence for a moment, before Lilah spoke. "I like many kinds of flowers, but pink roses are my favorite. Just something about me that you didn't know."
