Cameron shook his head. “Dunno, just thinking it was kinda weird for them to show up so early.”

Lilah nodded her agreement slowly. “It was pretty strange… But they might have just gotten here, too.”

Cameron turned to look at her. “What do you men by that?”

“Well, they obviously drove or flew here, and they might have come here right away. I mean, they’re our mothers, so they have a reason to want to see us,” Lilah explained with a shrug.

“Oh. I don’t understand why they didn’t tell us, though. It was random.” He shrugged.

“Hm. Yeah, it was… Maybe they just wanted to be sure that we would be home? I mean, it’s not like they’re exactly our favorite people, so they might have thought we would leave to avoid seeing them,” Lilah suggested.

Cameron shrugged, nodding. “That’s true. But we have a right to say no to them. It’s just unfair to us.”

Lilah sighed and nodded slowly. “I know. And I agree… They shouldn’t have come so early or without warning like they did…”

“We have some type of right to say no, don’t we?” Cameron asked softly, that point of fact still stuck in his head.

"Yes, Cameron, we do. We're adults now. We can make our own decisions," Lilah said, putting her things down and wrapping her arms around him gently.

Cameron wiped his hands off on a rag and hugged her back, sighing. “Adults. Adulting is fun.”

"Mmhm. Sure is…" Lilah sighed. "I think the best part is that I get to be married to you, and we have Tobias now, too."

Cameron gently rubbed her back, sighing softly. “I agree. It’s wonderful. Just having us under this roof.”

"Maybe we should get a bigger roof, though," Lilah mused thoughtfully. "If we have more kids, that is…"

Cameron nodded thoughtfully, sighing softly. “We will. Should we start house hunting soon?”

"Probably. The sooner the better, right?" Lilah mused, looking up at him with a soft smile. "Should we stay here, or maybe move to a new place?"

Cameron looked down at her, smiling faintly in return. “We could house hunt now, and save the moving for later.”

"I meant city-wise. Should we stay in this town or move to a new city?" Lilah asked with a soft chuckle.

“Oh. I like this city.” He gently rubbed her back. “And the city likes us.”

“I like this one, too… I hope we can find a nice place here,” Lilah murmured, melting into his touch. Back rubs were one of her weaknesses, and she absolutely loved them…

Cameron shut his eyes as she leaned into his chest. He smiled a little.
“I bet we could build one. We’d have to go through a bunch of stuff but it’d be nice.”

“And it would take forever,” Lilah sighed. “Why don’t we just look for a place, first?”

Cameron frowned a bit, leaning his chin on her head. “Right. Let’s do that, then.”

"If we don't find one, though, we can start looking to build a house, okay?" Lilah said softly, closing her eyes contentedly as she hugged him tightly.

Cameron returned her tight hug with a squeeze. “Okay. That sounds like a plan.”

A cry from the dining room reminded Lilah that she was supposed to be cleaning Tobias' mess up. She sighed and pulled away reluctantly.

"I think our son is tired… As soon as I clean him up and put him down for a nap, we should go cuddle," she suggested, looking up at Cameron with a small smile.

Cameron slowly let her go as well, his eyebrows furrowed slightly. “Thst sounds nice. I’ll have to finish up here, though.”

Lilah nodded, reaching up to press a quick kiss to his cheek before starting back out to the dining room. "If you're not ready by the time I am, I'll wait you you in our room."

Cameron nodded and smiled a little. “I’ll just have to fill the dishwasher snd clean off the counters.”

"Well, then you might be waiting for me," Lilah chuckled, stepping back into the dining room to clean up their son's mess.
