Williams hummed and looked forward. “I think it is unwise to get so close. You’re forbidden to marry, after all.”
“Who said I have to marry her to have a life with her?” Cameron protested angrily.
“It’s royal tradition.”

Lilah stirred, starting to wake up. She groaned a little before blinking her eyes open.
Cameron glanced down at her quickly, his scowl disappearing. “Morning.”

"Morning?" Lilah groaned in confusion. She sat up, rubbing her face.
Cameron watched her, his hand pulling away from her hair. “Yeah, you fell asleep.”

Lilah's eyes widened. "I did? Sorry…" she murmured, wincing.
Cameron laughed gently, subdued from Williams’ warning. “That’s quite alright.”

"I was weird, wasn't I? I get weird when I sleep for some reason," Lilah babbled before stopping herself and clamping her mouth shut.
Cameron grinned and shook his head. “It wasn’t weird. You seemed to enjoy it.”

Lilah sighed and leaned back in her seat. "Okay. If you say I wasn't, then I'll believe you."
Cameron nodded, watching her for a moment before looking back out the front window, still prickling with anger at his and Williams’ conversation.

"You okay?" Lilah asked, noticing the tension in the air. She placed a hand on his arm comfortingly.
Cameron started gently. “Mmyeah. I’m fine, Lilah.” He glanced at her with a slight grin.

"Okay… You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" Lilah said gently, removing her hand from his arm and tucking both under her legs.
(I thought I read ‘tucked them under his legs’ an i was like excuse me?)
Cameron nodded. “I’ll tell you… soon.” He smiled a slight smile, thinking of his own mysteriousness.

Lilah rolled her eyes and snorted.
"M'kay. I'll hold you to that," she teased.
(I know xD. I reread it with a sigh of relief)
Cameron nudged her with a shoulder. “You do that. I promise I will, though.”

"You'd better," Lilah laughed lightly, poking him in the side.
Cameron laughed too and poked her back gently. “I will, I will.”
“Miss and Mr, we are here,” Williams quietly announced as he went into park.

Lilah looked out the window. "I guess that's our cue, huh?" she remarked, turning back to Cameron.
Cameron nodded and opened his door. “Let us go, then.” He stepped out.

Lilah followed suit, making sure she didn't bump her head on the roof of the car. She'd done that more times than she would care to admit, and she wasn't too fond of doing it again.
"I'm surprised Lily's not barking her head off yet," she joked.
Cameron peered into the car. “As am I… Williams!”
“Yes, sir?”
“Where’s Lily?”
“Outside, in the backyard.” Williams bowed.

"Should we go find her?" Lilah asked, looking to Cameron.
Cameron sighed and shook his head at the butler. “Yes, let’s go find Lily.” He turned away from Williams and led the way inside.

"How long has she been out there?" Lilah wondered aloud as she looked for the puppy.
Cameron sighed. “I have no idea… hopefully not too long…”
He opened the wide doors to the backyard and looked around for Lily, who wasn’t there.

"Maybe she's playing over by the rocks she likes," Lilah suggested.
Cameron frowned and walked over. From there, they heard gentle puppy whines from a crack between two rocks.

"Lily?" Lilah called, hearing the puppy. She turned to give Cameron a concerned look. "What if she's stuck?"
