"I'm not that far away from you. I literally walked, like, five feet," Lilah said, turning to smile at him.

Cameron nudged into her. “You could’ve ran inside and shut the doors!”

Lilah gave him an amused look. "Why would I do that to you?"

“I dunno. To keep me out here in this heat, where I’d doze off?” He grinned.

"But… Why would I want to do that?" Lilah questioned him.

Cameron shrugged. “I’ve had it happen before.”

"Oh… Sorry…" Lilah murmured, looking at him sympatheticly.

Cameron stuck out his tongue. “That doesn’t matter anymore.”

Lilah shrugged and opened the door. "If you say so."

Cameron grabbed the door. “It happened a while ago. Sorry if I worried you.”

"I just… Your stories make me feel bad for you, is all," Lilah said with a shrug as she and Lilac walked inside.

Cameron lowered his gaze. “I don’t need pity. It’s just empty words…” He shook his head.

"Not coming from me, it's not," Lilah assured him gently.

Cameron glanced up at her unsurely but did not voice it. He started petting the dozing Lily instead, quietly touched, however, by her statement.

Lilah gave him a soft smile and gently bumped his shoulder.

"I'll get us a ride, 'kay?"

“Alright,” Cameron responded softly.
Lily barked and leaned up to lick Cameron’s nose.

"You can follow me or wait out front. Or wander the halls and I'll have someone find you, your choice," Lilah said.

“I’ll just wait out front. Unless you’d like me to stay with you.” He wasn’t reasy to be found by Lilah’s parents if they found him sitting alone.

"Like I said, it's up to you. If you stay with me, we both get company. If you wait out front, you'll probably beat me to the car," Lilah explained.

“I’ll stay with you.” He grinned at her, deciding finding some of her family with her herself was better than alone.

Lilah grinned back, secretly thankful he'd chosen that option.

"Okay. Let's go find a driver, then," she said, leading the way.

Cameron tailed her, gazing around her castle happily. Though he was still somewhat subdued from earlier, he grinned.

Lilah caught a passing servent and told him to find them a driver. He nodded, bowed, and promised to do so quickly before Lilah dismissed him.

"Well that was easy," she said, turning to Cameron.

Cameron strightened his posture a little. “Yeah. It was.” He smiled at her.

"We can go wait outside, now, if you want," Lilah suggested.

Cameron nodded and stuck his hand out after putting the pupper down. “Lets go, then.” He smiled.

Lilah smiled and toon his hand gently. She led him out the front doors, so they were back where they started when they had first arrived at the castle.

"And now… we wait…" she sighed.

“Yes. We wait.” Cameron sat down on a stone without warning, picking up his pupper.

Lilah sat down beside him with a sigh. Lilac trotted over and rested her head in her owner's lap, giving a soft whine.

"Are you ready for a walk, girl?" Lilah asked, rubbing the dog's head.

Lily borked softly at Lilac, wiggling forward in Cameron’s arms.
Cameron chuckled. “Lily, you’re a leech.”
