Kenzie looked up at the darkening sky.
"Huh. Yeah, it does, doesn't it? Well, let's hurry, then! I don't want to be stuck out here when the sky breaks open!" she exclaimed. "Last one to the door is a rotten egg!"
Ellen giggled before catching up to Jesse and softly touching his elbow. "Thanks for talking Horace and Rhonda into letting me come with you." She murmured.
"Are you kidding? I have tons of sequined and metallic shirts in my backpack and I intend to outshine you everyday." Jinx laughed, patting the straps of his backpack. He pulled some sparkly sunglasses from his pocket and handed them to Jesse. "Here."

Skipper cracked a small smile. Okay, so maybe it wasn't going to be so bad after all. All she had to do was stay quiet and she would be fine.

Kenzie looked back and saw that only Skipper was racing with her. She sighed and slowed down, letting her catch up.
"Well, that was fun while it lasted," she said.
Skipper gave Kenzie a smile. "It was." She answered barely above a whisper.
