A Haunting of Faeshire Manor

(Inspired by the Conjuring Movies as well as the Ghost Adventures show)

Faeshire Manor, arguably the most haunted building in all of America. Closed to the public for years, since the untimely and horribly tragic death of a young socialite about 10 years ago. Now the property as been purchased by a rather eccentric billionaire and has been reopened to Paranormal Investigators for a limited time.
Your team (insert name here) has been lucky enough to secure a spot at the Manor as the pilot episode to your new show, but when you and your team finally arrive to do the job, you see that there is much more under the surface of the once noble home. All the other teams have run screaming from their investigations.
It is up to you and your team to solve the mystery of the house and put to rest the evil (and not so evil) spirits that reside there.

Rules:

1. Ask me before joining
2. Please please please use correct grammar and punctuation and all that
3. Don't control other people's characters without asking
4. LGBTQ+ is both welcomed and encouraged
5. Hate between the characters is alright, hate between each other is not (be nice guys)
6. Try and make your characters diverse in personality, race, sexuality, etc. (No Mary/Gary Sues)
7. Try and refrain from one-liners if you can
8. If you have major plot ideas that's encouraged, just pm me
9. There's going to be lots of swearing here. And murder and other triggering stuff. Possibly. Idk for sure, but I’m pretty positive.
10. If there's gonna be romance but let's not have any planned beforehand. Just let it happen, people.

Tragic backstory: Oh, well, she was 10 years old when she started communicating with ghosts and the like. Most people assume she's a fake, just for show, but she actually has a lot of experience with… well, being psychic, I guess. Most of her family is dead, except for her younger sister, who lives in a mental hospital. Tragic enough? I think not. Her dog was hit by a car when she tried to convince a spirit to leave her house, and she was eventually forced to move.

Job: Lead Investigator

Personality: People will be afraid to tell you that this guy's a fucking nut. He's probably– inevitably– the craziest guy on the team. He talks to himself or just into hallways as if he can see something there (he can't). He'll snap at random times, shifting to absolutely random and crazy, to normal somewhat energetic guy. Not much is really known as to why in the public. But he's just known for taking the most bat-shit stupid stories and making them actually believable. He really doesn't care much for himself and others.

Appearance: Fluffy brown hair that reaches his scrawny shoulders. Tangled, not for, greasy as fuck. Frames his long, naturally dark skin with blemishes of acne (because of greasy skin from lack of care and stuff). He's a rather tall dude at 5'11 and very malnourished. Haughty red-brown (or hazel, you idiot) eyes that seem to sink away into his skull. His lips are poised in a slight grin.

Talents: Very intelligent, can keep his eye on the prize and stay focused for a guy with his mental health.

Flaws: Once focused on something will not allow himself to get distracted with "stupid stuff" like cleaning, eating, or drinking. The only thing he would be peeled away from work is using the restroom.

Outfit: He usually wears darker colors, as to not "scare them". He might be one of those guys that once he gets a certain outfit he will not change out of it, and that outfit's a dark mix of his work clothes and a stupid lab coat that's actually quite helpful in his life.

Tragic back story (or like…. just a normal backstory): I'm gonna keep it pretty short and sweet. He had pretty physically abusive parents, especially his father. The guy snapped one day, thrust his son down a flight of steps in their home out of rage over something minuscule, and he was stuck in a coma for over three years. When he emerged, he was behind in school (obviously) but many attempts from the CPS (Child Protective Services) got him caught up and even ahead of the class once he was helped out of his coma. However, he really wasn't the same, though he was never professionally diagnosed with schizophrenia, it's obvious he has it from somewhere along this path of a dark past.
