Quinn raised an eyebrow as the carriage lurched into motion. "Careful, you're going to hurt your eyes, love." He said teasingly.

Charlotte scowled. "Shut up. I am not," she muttered.
"With all that squinting, yes you are." He replied.
"I am not squinting," Charlotte argued quietly. "Just trying to read this stupid book."
He chuckled. "If you say so." He sighed softly.
"I do say so," Charlotte sniffed annoyedly.
He chuckled. "Mm. I'm sorry it wasn't the right portal, by the way."
Charlotte shook her head. "Whatever. It's not like it was your fault,.anyway."
He sighed. "I know. But still." He shook his head slightly.
"It's fine, Quinn," Charlotte said, harsher than she meant to.
He blinked. "Oh. Okay." He looked out the window.
Charlotte crossed her arms uncomfortably and stared out her own widow.
He closed his eyes tiredly. The next stop isn't too far away, thankfully. Maybe the next portal will lead to her way home.

Charlotte exhaled slowly before holding her breath. For some reason, she felt like that was going to help somehow.

A few hours later…
The carriage stopped, and Aster knocked on the door. "Hey, time for lunch." He said.
Charlotte nodded and jumped out of the carriage.
Quinn got out of the carriage.
Aster led the way towards a small restaurant.
Charlotte followed slowly with her arms crossed.
Aster led them into the restaurant, and they were guided to a section of six seats.
Quinn sat down.
Charlotte followed suit and sat, folding her hands on her lap.
The waitress arrived and handed out menus.
Quinn flipped through it.
Aster looked at the menu.
Charlotte stared blankly at her menu for several seconds before shaking her head quickly to clear it and opening it.
Quinn opened the menu and started looking at the selection.
Charlotte wrinkled her nose before shutting her menu and dropping it on the table.
Quinn looked up. "Something wrong?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not hungry," Charlotte mumbled, crossing her arms again.
