He nodded, and turned off the light, then came over to sit with her.

Charlotte stuck her head out slightly and looked up, smiling slightly. "There they are," she murmured. The stars helped to anchor her, so she didn't feel quite as far away from home.
Quinn smiled slightly. "Would you like me to point out the constellations for you?" He asked, glancing at her, then up at the stars.
Charlotte thought for a moment. "Alright," she decided eventually.
He smiled, and scooted closer to her, pointing upwards. "There, look at that." He said. "That's the teacup."

Charlotte gave a tiny laugh. "Of course it is."
He grinned. "And that's the…oh! That's the Cheshire Cat Constellation." He pointed.
"Oh, my - that is so stereotypical," Charlotte laughed teasingly.
He grinned again. "Well, the Cheshire Cat is iconic." He replied.
"I thought this was a kingdom, not some sort of amusement park," Charlotte joked, raising an eyebrow.
He chuckled. "Can't it be both? This is Wonderland, love." He replied.
"I know that. Dear heavens, I'm going to jump out this window if I hear that one more time." Charlotte blinked. "Er, I mean, excellent observation," she said unusually brightly.
He laughed softly. "Mm. If you say so." He glanced at her, an unusual smile on his face. This smile contained none of the smirk that his usual smiles did. It was just a soft, happy smile.
Charlotte smiled slightly nervously as she stared at the sky. The effect was diminishing now that she realised that even the stars were different here.
He hesitated for a moment. "Wonderland's stars…change. a lot. This configuration of the sky is common, but…sometimes there are other constellations, from other worlds, that appear in our sky. If you look closely, maybe you'll find some from yours."
Charlotte stared for several moments before smiling slightly. "That cross, there," she pointed. "That's Cygnus. Dad taught me that one when I was small."
Quinn squinted, then smiled. "I see it." He said. "That's cool."
Charlotte nodded. "I used to do this a lot," she admitted. "I had all the constellations memorised by heart," she smiled thoughtfully.
He smiled. "That's awesome. I only know some of Wonderland's most basic. I…never had much time for learning about the stars." He admitted.
Charlotte nodded. "I really didn't, either. But my father insisted that knowing the stars was an important part of my education. I think he just wanted to give me a break," she laughed softly, looking down.
He chuckled. "I'm… curious about your father." He said slowly. "I haven't heard much about him until now."
Charlotte froze. "Oh, er… he's not around anymore. Went missing a few years ago. It's a rather taboo subject in my aunt's house, as are most things, so I'm not really accustomed to talking about him." She paused for a few moments before adding, "everyone always apologises when I talk about it, anyway. It's frustrating."
"Oh. I'm sorry." Quinn replied, looking down at the ground, then sighed softly. "I didn't know."

"No, I just - " she paused to take a deep breath. " - I specifically just told you I hate when people tell me they're sorry. You didn't kidnap my father. Don't apologise as though you did, " she requested, then added a quiet, "please."
He winced. "Oh. Sor-" he cut himself off, pressing his lips together and making a face. "Well now I dont know what to say."
Charlotte smiled. "Then talk about something else. Or don't say anything," she suggested.
He chuckled. "And which would you rather me do?" He asked, raisong an eyebrow.
Charlotte shrugged. She obviously preferred conversation, but if she talked too long, she'd be a nuisance. "Either is fine," she decided.
He nodded, and looked up at the stars again. "You know, this is the first time in my life that I've left the palace."
