There were children of all ages in the common room. Younger toddlers playing over in different areas, where other preteens chatted in corners. A younger boy, around 8, laughed as he told his friends to watch. He closed his eyes tightly, seeming to be in concentration, and a pencil floated an inch or two off a table before dropping.
(I've got a few side characters that we could use too if you want)

Lata glanced over, seeing the pencil just before it dropped. The woman running the personal hell didn't seem to notice. Lata signaled to Orion that she was going to go check it out.
Orion nodded to her, before going back to watching the room.

Lata walked over and kneeled with the rest of the group. They all looked at her with curious glances. The young boy was looking at her with a bit of fear. Afterall, magic was not to be used.
