Ann lead him up the hill and to the markets. It wasn’t bustling as some streetsides were, so it left them to browse their selections with ease. Ann got fruits and vegetables of all sorts after turning to Matt.

Matt looks around, then back at Ann. "Do they have anything else than fruits and vegetables? Like I don't know…" He looks away shyly. "Cake?"

Ann smiled warmly. “Sure they do. There was some at the stall back there. C’mon.” She beckoned him and started leading him. “What kind of cake do you like, dear”

Matt thought about this for a second What cake did he like? He didn't mind what cake he ate as long as it was good but finally suggested something. "Pastel de tres leches?" He said in an awful Spanish accent. He tried.

Ann looked at him curiously. “What’s that? I’ve never heard of it before.” She gave a warm smile as they walked the path.

Matt stares off into space as he tries to find a way to explain it to her. "Well, it's a cake, right? Right. Okay. But like it's really milky. Yea. It has a lot of milk in it, it's very…ummm juicy?" He turns a bit red from embarrassment. Well shit.
Ann frowned a little in thought. “Nope. Never had it nor heard of it. We’ll have to see if it’s there.” She smiled kindly.

Matt smiles nervously then says in a really quick and soft tone "I don't have to get that exact cake I could you know just get anything, I really don't mind haha…I'm a mess." He whispers at the end.
Ann laughed gently and patted his back. “No worries. I’ll do the best I can. If not I’ll take you up on your offer and get a strawberry shortcake.”

Matt smiles brightly when she mentions 'strawberries". They were his favorite thing in the whole world because for some reason strawberries made the world seem like a better place. According to Matt. "Yea! Let's get that cake!" He says excitedly.
Ann smiled at his reaction. He was so cute when he was excited. “Alright. We’ll get that, then!”

Matt beams and walks along with her, enjoying her presence even more by the minute. "Nice! And uh thanks, for putting up with me" He smiles, still a bit excited from the cake talk.
Ann waved a hand. “Hey, I’m not putting up with you. I’m enjoying our little talks. It’s not a worry.” She smiled.

Matt nods. So confident! He thinks, admiring her. Now if only he could have a bit of that confidence. "Same here," He says meekly.
Ann patted his back again, absolutely beaming. She seemed very glad to have someone to talk and walk around with; which she was.

Matt smiles and looks over at her. "umm, Soooo do you like have a boyfriend? Possibly a husband?" He laughs uncomfortably, trying to make small talk.
Ann looked at him, smiling. “You think someone like me’d have a husband or boyfriend? Nu uh honey, I don’t.”

Matt laughs a bit by the way she responded. "I actually would think you were taken, I mean you're nice, friendly, pretty, and you just have this really comfortable aura about you~" He nods in agreement with himself, which is something he did often.
Ann turned a faint red and looked away, giggling. “I suppose I am, huh? Well, no man’s been lucky enough… yet.”

Matt feels a bit of hope rising within himself "Yet…" He repeats to himself "Well, I know we just met, but umm would you mind giving me a chance?" He says a bit shyly while trying not to look nervous as hell.
Ann grinned shyly at him. “I already offered you a housestay… hell, why not.” She beamed.

Matt blushes slightly wait, what now? what if he messed this up somehow? Oh god why couldn't he just stop worrying for one second? "T-thank you!" He says, not knowing what else to say.
Ann nudged him with her hip. “You’re welcome! I think I could like a little old-school dating. It seems like my type of jig.”

Matt laughs a bit. "Well, you just made a Matt very happy, I hope I meet your expectations too of course"
Ann smiled warmly at him. “I’m glad I did! You made me very happy too.”
