Academy for the Cursed

Everyone at the Academy for the Cursed has some sort of curse, whether they got it at birth or later on in life. Some of them are from witches, some from fae, some from neither. The students who get accepted into the academy are only the ones whose curses somehow impede their daily life (whether it be that they’re so clumsy they can’t hold anything or that they turn into an ogre once the sun sets), but the curses vary in how bad they are and what exactly they do. At the Academy, students learn all of the basic stuff as well as magic (not all of them have the ability for magic) as well as how to manage their curses and live (somewhat) normal, fulfilling lives. However, a lot of drama goes down at the Academy, as one would expect…

Okay, so before we get into it, here’s a few rules:
1) No OP characters. You can have magic, but don’t be like a god or anything.
2) Keep it PG-13. Romance, violence, and language is allowed but don’t get too crazy. Anything too steamy needs to be taken to pm.
3) Be nice to other people OOC!
4) LGBT+ is definitely allowed.
5) andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)’s rules apply.

Age: 14
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pancake pansexual
Species: Sorceress, unfortunately.
Curse/curses (no more than two): She physically can't touch the ground. She's stuck, permanently hovering a foot off the ground. She can go up slightly higher, but no lower than one foot, always praying she doesn't drop something.
Personality: She's pretty anxious and doesn't really like people. She's been conditioned to assume people hate her because sorceresses aren't exactly welcomed in her town.

Backstory: This is a new character, so I'm just sort of keeping it vague (aka I have no creativity). Basically, she accidentally killed her dad when she was 6, so the rest of her family hated her, along with the rest of the town, and there was talk of witch burnings, so she just ran away when she was 9.

Name: Ezra Wakefield
Age (12-18): 16
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bi, but prefers guys
Species: Human/Wizard (sort of) - he has control over an ‘astral’, which is like this whispy black smoke with a personality (if anyone wants to know it’s inspired by the graphic novel: “Nightschool” by Svetlana Chmakova (but it’s not the exact same thing)). The stronger he is, the better he can control his astral.
Curse/curses (no more than two): People he gets close to ‘mysteriously’ get hurt often, sometimes killed. If he shows any love/affection to someone, there is a good chance they’ll die.
Personality: Shy and reserved, he’s afraid to get to know people. He gets flustered easily and he’ll freeze up if he’s put on the spot. Really, his only friend is his astral, and that’s his magic.
Appearance: Short and thin with pure white hair that falls over his eyes. Dark brown eyes and pale skin. Often wears long sleeved close and long pants, likes to dress in darker color because he doesn’t want people to notice him.
Backstory: When he was a kid, about 9, he always hung out with his best friend. The two were inseparable. They met up with each other almost every day and did almost anything they could think of. One day, Ezra thought to go walk by a cliff near their houses, and both their parents weren’t home so no one was there to tell them ‘no’. When they were playing a simple game of tag, Ezra was running after his friend. His friend, not watching were they were going, ran too close to the edge of the cliff and fell to their death. Their friend’s mother, a witch, blamed Ezra for her child’s death, and put the curse on Ezra so they could never get close to anyone again without hurting them. His mother and father died since then (his father from a heart attack and his mother from an incurable disease), and Ezra blames himself. He’d been homeschooled by his foster father since then, but so this is the first time in a while he’s going to school with other people.

Species: Human, of sorts. They're Fae blessed
Curse/curses (no more than two): Lexath can tell people. Basically, they can make people do what they tell them.
Personality: Lexath is a shy person, though they are hellbent on making friends that don't care about their curse. They are a puffball through and through.
Appearance: They are short and tiny. Lexath's eyes would often be compared to molten gold if she had friends. their skin is pale and ivory, something they got from being Fae blessed. Lexath's hair is poofy and dyed light pink.
Backstory: Their mother helped a fae women when she was pregnant with Lexath, who in return promised they would make it up to her. When Lexie was born, the fae women came back a few years after, she placed a hand on Lexath's throat and said: "I will give you the gift of a convinving voice."
